No expert either but even if the market was 100%, how for the avge punter does that make tipping the brownlow easier?
You lose $50 if pendelbury loses regardless of whether he is $3.50 or $7.50

If the market is more favourable you don't need to win as often to turn a profit, I think is the underlying logic

Strip it back to a head to head contest, where one party is at 1.50 and the other is at $3

This means that the bookies have calculated that the team at $1.50 will win 60% of the time. So now you make a determination as to whether you think this is true. If you think it is higher you bet on them if you think it is 55% then you bet on the other team, even if it means you will lose more often, the payback when you win is enough to make it back.

NM at $3.60 to win 1-39 is a pretty good bet.

If the Roos do win, can't see them kicking a big score in a blustery place like Blundstone, when the forward lines a bit iffy under a roof.

St Kilda are at $14 for 1-39....so that could be a good bet too considering Norths year to date.

I can't agree. North are building and St Kilda are shit. They've got nothing to play for and will hate being down in Tassie in the cold.

North 60+.
