Did SOO rules apply for WA v SA state matches back then? I have a funny idea that WA and SA only ever met 2 or 3 times under SOO rules, and this was only ever during carnivals. Am happy to be told I'm wrong though (spelly?)

It was his BEST year back at Woodville. He came back in 83 and retired at the end of 85.

GWW wrote:Spelly, do you have any info on how many goals Blight kicked in that 85 game v WA in Perth?
Also, does anyone know if SA were officially awarded the 85 game v Vic due to the interchange error? I vaguely recall that but cant remember exactly what happened as a result.

Super would have to be the most one of the most underrated footballers by the general football public and some sections of the media but if any of you ever get the chance to ask those that played with or against him where he stands in their estimations do so and I'm of the belief they are the best judges. I'm bemused at the reference to Graham Cornes when people reflect on the 73 Grand Final and no doubt his goal to put them in front has gone down in folklore however Carey kicked 7 goals that day from CHF no less.1980 Tassie Medalist wrote:spell_check wrote:R: Carey Aish Naley

Look I'm not the biased to know that there are ruckmen in teh Australian Football HOF that deserve to be in there ahead of him.....Nicholls, Farmer, Simon Madden etc
But how the numb nut from the VFA/VFL got in last year when he played 200 less games played in one premiership compared to three and like super made one All Australian side?????
The only thing that bloke did that Supe didn't was coach and even then his playing/coaching tally is still a minimum of 100 gams less than Super.
I am dying to know how that wood-duck (comapred to Super) got in ahead of Peter Carey????
