I agree, I'm sure Doug is a great coach and I understand that the stocks are most probably very low. We had two young blokes Saturday, in fairness to those guys, I just can't understand the logic in that. BJ is probably our best umpire, he should be rostered with a young bloke every week so they can learn from him. Even get Andy Seccafien and Doug himself up in the As to teach these young blokes the ropes, I'm sure they'd develop quicker. Doug and Andy were both there watching and providing plenty of advice at the breaks. When young umpires are overruling each other, it cant be great for their confidence, whereas if an older umpire was to do so, well maybe he'd learn from it a bit more. Who knows!!
I would hate the job, it'd be tough, so I must give them credit for having a crack.
Never had a problem with young Clarky, I rate him up there with BJ fittingly both were awarded last years GF
