The club was in breach of its liquor license on the weekend. I could go on...? More poor form from you mob than anyone else...?

Clubs require volunteers to do jobs like man the gate, they are not easy to find all the time, so instead of carrying on like a upper-class snob, maybe donate some of your time to help out a club like Hamley... Or is it easier to sit back and take pot shots... If you do already help out a club, you should know first hand that running a club can be quite labourious, and know that people running their clubs are clearly doing their utmost to keep their club alive.

Most clubs in this league will struggle or rely on too few volunteers to get through a normal Saturday at the footy/netty, and club likes Hamley, United & HWE even more so due to location and population.

Don't forget that people have been at the club from usually 8.00am on the gate, in the canteen, on the BBQ, coaching/umpiring the U8's and U10's, so when u turn up at 1.00 on a Saturday arvo, they have already been there working thier arses off for at least 5 hours if not more... AND THATS EVERY CLUB!

As for the Liquor licence, I reckon if you held every club to the letter of the law on their licences, footy state wide would be a pretty dry occassion.

I would hope that you took the time out to tell the local footy president about what errors they may be making (as they genuinely might not realise) and what effects it may have if they were 'caught', or again was it too easy just to sit back and criticise.

I also could go on....

Certainly. And if you wanted to write about these things under your own name in the Bunyip then that's fine because you're taking personal responsibility for your comments. IMO if you're going to write a footy column under anonymity you shouldn't be ripping into blokes' integrity.

Interesting statement, parts I agree with. However, the same sort of statements are made on a forum and most people barely blink an eye, says Dogwatcher to Dizzee Rascal.

Fair point, but this forum isnt an official representation of the league, I would think the Informer is, and given they ask people to pay for it, the standards should be set a little higher.

I imagine a little bit of banter doesnt hurt anyone, but by the reactions here, it may cross the line from time to time, questioning someones integrity/ethics/morals etc is over the mark.

Just needs to find the even balance to keep everyone happy I would imagine.

I would think that the views of The Informer are not the views of the league, no matter where they're published.

Sooo anyway, Virginia obviously responded in the right manner after getting a rocket from the coach last week.
Within the context of the race for the finals, (TW 3rd 14, V 4th 12, B 5th 10) it means this week's Virginia v Balak match takes on huge significance. Peckers did everything but win against Hamley last weekend. Red Barnet's on field strategies may have fixed up Balak, but the Peckers will come out hard again this Saturday against the Rams. Match of the round easily.

I have had this 'banter' happen to me in the informer this year and honestly if your that wound up by it like it has been said, don't buy it, sticks and stones guys who really cares if your playing decent footy let someone try and knock you down, I think it's a bit of a laugh on a Saturday morning, keep it up I say. Like I said I've been in it and its water off a ducks back, there is worse sledging on a footy field now I know people take it so too heart I might do it more

I reckon the Lambs are 3rd roodog. A balak win would make a super finish to the year though

Oops - my bad  :D The principle is though that if Balak win, they're still in the mix, but lose and I think it's all over as far as finals go for the Peckers. Might nearly pick 'em this week on the strength of it........

Some people take this forum seriously, some people need stay off here if you think that better still stay in your Elder Care Home and don't go to games if the only thing your going to post on here is disparaging, negative or nit picking about unmanned gates or state of grounds on days like last weekend

Ok - tips time!
HB 40+ United's improvement hit a speed bump against Mallala, and this will be no easier. Bombers to be too strong here.
TW 40+ The Roosters, as the big "smoky" of the comp, will continue with their new found consistency by rolling the unfortunate Eagles.
B 1-39 Was impressed by the Peckers' effort last week. Going out on a limb and tipping them to win the second of what may be five elimination finals for them.

Front runners on the Producer Medalist anyone..
My prediction - K Heberle, A Turrell, H Walker
I also reckon no more than 15 votes will win it.
