Willaston why you let that clown speak on your behalf I don’t know.
1. The ball wasn’t in play
2. Willaston Captain is a wanker
3. The umpire stuffed up
I think Cornsy & Rowey said it better than anyone and a lot of people heard it.
Well spoken Roger you have done your club proud

Who was that tool who spoke from Willaston? He made their club look like fools.
At least Roger spoke some sense

Extracter, the article on the back page of the herald may have seemed like good PR for the league and young "quick draw Mcgraw", but its seriously backfired in the football community as you can see from the reaction to the radio interview with KG and Cornsy. Roger James spoke on a higher level than his Willaston counterpart - in a football and logical sense. The league has got some serious work to do in community football, especially Nobby. All the article really did was rub salt in the still open wounds I'd think.

Unfortunately LM, for many people involved at Barossa Districts, this debacle will never have 'run it's course' and will become part of the 'black days of history' in the BL&GFA".
Mind you, with a couple of the people at the helm of Willaston having some past history in various acts that are below the normal, doing anything this low is of no surprise to many who know them. To quote Derryn, 'shame, shame, shame' on the captain & coach!
A very hollow victory and the Karma bus will call again at Willaston, believe me.

Speaking of the Karma bus i believe it arrived at Barossa districts in a big way albeit 40 years later. The reports in the paper suggest Lyndoch called for a count against south gawler in the late 60's. Now that was a case where south had something to be angry about with a guy being stretchered off being counted as the 19th man.
Also i cant believe how people are commending Barossa for playing the game out, FFS how many teams are down by 10 goal at 3/4 time in a final, they dont go home do they ;)

Lets just hope those same people aren't gawler central supporters... or we could be headed for double trouble in a weeks time.

should be a cracker of a game in the B's this week, the undefeated surprise packet v's a seasoned B grade finals campaigners.

Sounds like last weekend will continue to be brought up many years down the track, BUT im with Pinchy here lets move on to this weeks games...

A's probably doesnt need much preview, a near full strength Tanunda should easily take care of GC if it was the same team that came out against them last time...

B's will be a cracker, A strong willaston should beat the PIes but finals are funny and you never know when you come up against a seasoned finals team

I think the point people are making is that they didnt just capitulate, like most teams do when they are 10 goals down at 3 qtr time in thier final match of the year. Its a fair kickin the teeth I'd imagine, but to re-group and continue to fight the game out I think is a credit to them. There must have been some angry thoughts in their heads at the time so the game could've gone 2 ways from that point.

I agree with you there mate, any player who can kick 76 goals in a year from a team that finishes 8th is an effort and a half. Would have had him at Full Foward with Bova and Commane at Centre Half

Willaston in the B's should be far too strong for Tanunda, but finals are a funny time of year. Luke Copley to bag 6 goals, with little Jarrod Farrow to dominate in the middle

Long time since my last reply Willaston to take the b grade game tomorrow, hopefully the big lads in copely and big maxy can put on a show and get the boys home. In the main game maybe Tanunda to get the chocolates in what looks to be terrible conditions, hot & Windy! Hopefully GC can put up a good fight but tanunda to be to strong.

Tanunda will win both games tomorrow...

With a full strength squadron, the reserves team will be loaded with talented players just begging for the chance to play in a premiership in 2 weeks time. I'm tipping a really big win in both senior grades. Primed for september.

Agree drifter, it would be a tough job. With the selectors with heritage from Tanunda, Kapunda, Willaston and Freeling they will generally push harder for players they see play more frequently.Big Mal O not enough pull at the table on this occassion.
Couple of selections based on history. Think Howard has been the competitions best ruckman, had better year than Wells. For some reason Prior keeps getting pick year in, year out. Think Bennett and Wells gained automatic inclusion for SA Country selection.

Fair Call Mohammad... Mensforth often kicked 70-80% of your teams goals in some games. Hard done by like i said in a previous post. Not sure about big Schuby, did he actually play a game at CHF this season, we all know he much prefers the other end of the ground.

Hard to argue with Bennett, at Full Back though. The guy is a quality footballer, who Ango will do exceptionally well to keep hold of next year. And AJ is the best 1 on 1 defender at Tanunda, the best side in the comp, so not sure you can deprive him of a spot here.

Not sure about selector Bias in this years team, hard to say all those selected didn't deserve the spot.

Mensforth, Blakemore, and especially Andrew Pech are seriously unlucky to not make the side, but who do you take out really? All are deserving.
