Very interesting compilation Spelly. Interesting that Norwood has the fewest telecasts over that period (possibly due to playing more night games). Also interesting to see that of Norwood's 34 broadcast games, 10 were against Central and only 4 against Port. The Norwood v Port rivalry is the biggest in the SANFL! Might also be due to the fact that I think Norwood Oval is a challenging place to broadcast from. However, if ratings was a driver for ABC broadcasts, it doesn't show in some of the 'head to head' tallies - I've put some interesting ones in italics above.

I thought the Centrals v Norwood stat was interesting - given that there have been a lot of night games at the Parade between those two (until recently of course).

Also, ratings isn't the driver for the ABC from what I understand. I think there's something in the charter about providing coverage to all parts of the community (or something similar), so that would suggest they're trying to provide coverage to all clubs and parts of the SANFL community. I stand to be corrected but I seem to recall that being said when there was debate about the ABC2 footy replays disappearing. I'll let others draw conclusions as to whether the ABC is doing that.

Interesting seeing the games they went to - I know in 1999 they chose the next rounds match each week based on the close ladder positions of the clubs. Sturt only had two in that list in 1994 (thanks to a good start to the season); Port had 12 and we had 11.

At least they showed the Fri Night match on Saturday - there was no Saturday match on due to the Crows playing on Saturday. Must have had a change of contract between then and 2002, when regular AFL matches on Saturday began here.
