Didn’t see it sorry(or notice it perhaps may be a better description), wasn’t any remonstrating after the event either from what I remember, and given the remonstrating the tigers players were partaking in all game I find it hard to believe there was much in it. As far as I’m aware Starr was applying a shepherd to Manners and obviously coped a knock to the jaw. Which can happen when playing a contact sport…. not that a broken jaw is an everyday occurrence, Just ask Dylan Ciccollela MC.

The incident was in the play and no report issued by the umpire. I believe United have made a report. I wasn’t aware of the incident until late Saturday night when MC mentioned it.

Anyway, hopefully youngy Benny has a speedy recovery.

Just look for the side that has big blokes showering with their Jocks on  , that will give it away. Also you can't grow steroids so Virginia are out of the race ;)

Usually you apply a shepherd using a "hip and shoulder" which is exactly how it sounds by bumping the opponent using your hip and your shoulder. His jaw was broken because the Hummocks player shepherded by leading with his elbow. Any boxing coach will tell you that more damage can be done by using an elbow than a fist. If the club did make a report like you say(which is possible), then the tribunal will hopefully be able to sort it out.

Not sure what you mean by the Dylan Cicca reference mate? :?

Did you see it MC? I heard Benny was the one applying the shepherd and Stumpy chasing the ball carrier?

The reference to Cicca was when he had his jaw broken by one of your blokes in the goal square at Long Plains a couple years ago.

And im sure you know if a report has been make by your club or not, you cant play dumb on this one.

Every year when association footy comes around there always seems to be a few players who make themselves unavailable for whatever reasons. But to suspend some of the best players in our league for a week because they are attending a wedding, had planned a hoilday or even playing at a higher standard in SANFL reserves is a bit of a joke. Being selected in the Association squad or team is an honour, especially if your side might not be a chance to play finals football. Most players are probably happy to play Association football but some players probably feel that by playing they are a chance to get injuried and could miss games for there club. I believe that the best policy for Association football is if they don't want to play, don't pick them.

Goodluck to both teams representing the Adelaide Plains on Saturday.

definitely not on, but not surprising from the nonsensical decision makers of the APFL

Good effort MC, don't mind that side at all. I'm pretty sure Hardiman is playing with the dogs. The next week or so is going to be very interesting given all the automatic suspensions that will be given out to guys making themselves unavailable or whom are injured. There are some big names missing from that team for whatever reason and not due to poor form I wouldnt think. It will make for an interesting round of local matches next week between teams missing some stars.

wait! so allmond has been injured for 3 weeks. thats means he can get suspended?

If he makes himself unavailable for association selection due to injury than yes. Its a pretty clear rule, if you wouldve been picked in the assoc side and you can't play for WHATEVER reason, then your not able to play for your club the following week. You sound surprised MH, the rule has been the same for 3-4 years. Having said that I am not a fan of the rule at all!
