So there is no need for Two Wells to appeal immediately then if they're not fit to play anyway of were you just suggesting this action to make a point Jumbo? i would agree, I think appealling it might actually make them reconsider the law.

I think the point needs to be made and made immediately - these "directors" (and I use the term loosely) need to be accountable for their decisions and when in error made to fix them immediately. Don't let them push the clubs around because they will think they can do it all the time (IMHO).

The fact that they can't play this week because they are injured makes the point even stronger and even these decision makers should be able to see they are in error. Like I said, it doesn't affect Two Wells this time, sure is affecting the Eagles though. I am just trying to picture the meeting - Busch, team of Directors - how can they sit there and think they are making a good decision? It just doesn't make logical sense to me.

That would be a good outcome I think.

First order of business - if you (board/directors) are not here for the betterment of APFL you can leave immediately - don't let the door hit you on the way put. Check ego's at door, make decisions based on ALL available information in the best interest of the APFL and its member teams and players.

How does one get a gig on this board anyway?[/quote]

Get someone to nominate you Jumbo. Can even nominate yourself.

Apparently the appeal procedure takes two weeks. during that time any players involved in that appeal process is not eligible to play what ive been told.

So this is how they bully clubs into line - do as we say or you'll miss them for another week? Pull your head in Board and start acting in the best interests of the APFL.

You should run for it Jumbo, you speak common sense on most occasions, or else have a good chat with Jock Brechin from your way, he is on the board and I personally find him great to talk to. He was on fire last Sat night at the Royal, had a great night with the Landmark Cup winning players. He is down to earth, honest and will always give his opinion on something. Greg Tucker from our way is also on it and same story, always open about having a chat about these things and will always respect your opinions. Afterall thats what they are there for. If you do, ask Jock how he pulled up Sunday morning, I reckon his pigs might have had a late brekky that day :D

Its one thing to have a good chat with people, but they obviously can’t make a common sense decision. In their defense perhaps the head honcho’s don’t listen to their down to earth honest opinions.

Ok. To move on from the depressing topic that is the APFL Board and the saga of whether Jock Brechin's pigs ate more than just a late breakfast Sunday morning I have heard of at least 3 milestones this week.

Congratulations to ............
Ned Seccafein 50 games
Scott Humphries 100 games
Shane Braham 200 games

Well played all. =D>

Two Wells took on undefeated Premiers Mallala at home on Saturday. The match was played in pretty good conditions despite morning showers and overcast skies. Two Wells made three changes to the side that defeated Virginia in Round 8 with Port Districts recruit Christian Nurton resuming from injury, Brad Struck promoted from the Reserves and Senior Colt Jordan Shephard making his A-grade debut. Two Wells captain Scott Humphries was playing his 100th game while vice captain Ned Seccafien was playing his 50th game. The Magpies started the game on fire kicking the first 6 goals before the Roosters had troubled the scorers. Alf Steed kicked Two Wells first goal before setting up the next as Paul Christofis kicked two goals before quarter time. Amazingly after their slow start the Roosters hit the front during the second quarter, before Mallala kicked away to lead by 14 points at half time. The third quarter was a real arm wrestle with neither side giving an inch with Mallala in front by 8 points at the final change. The last quarter started in near darkness and it wasn’t long before Mallala’s Daniel Feeley goaled for his fourth of the afternoon. Two Wells replied with the next two goals included an amazing set shot goal by Ryan McDonald from the car park to cut the lead to just 3 points. This would be as close as the Roosters would get. No matter what Two Wells would throw at Mallala they were simply too good. When David Pontt goaled on the goal line courtesy of a 50 metre penalty after being crunched as he marked the game was over. Two Wells battled on to the end, but the Magpies had too much class. Ranga Joel Montgomerie would have received three votes from the umpires in a best on ground performance where he didn’t waste a kick. Alf Steed was clearly Two Wells best with first class skills and was obvious that he had played alot of football at a higher standard. Tallan Leighton was also very good across half back along with youngster Daniel Hines who seems to be getting better each week. Two Wells face Balaklava away next Saturday in another big clash and needs to win to stay in touch with the top 4. Mallala are now 3 games clear in top spot and face a confident United at home in a potential danger game.

Looking forward to tomorrow night when Power players Westhoff, The Chad and Motlop take training for our Junior Grades. If anyone knows of any kids still looking for a game feel free to send them out to the Tower! 8)

Great initiative MC - great to see some AFL involvement at the grass roots level. Kids would love it I am sure.

Todd Thorne brought a couple of WWT Eagles league players out to Two Wells Primary School and later the footy club last thursday - we don't see enough of this but good to see it happening.
