I saw the second half, first game since the MV clash. Brighton got front position, won the ball. The more this happened their runners ran hard from behind the play to recieve forward of the contest. Only way to beat that type of confident play is to win the ball and thats hard when behind opponent and if not prepared to chase player up the ground. Brighton's forwards were delivered to advantage side sensationally and their kicking at the pegs were spot on. Bombers too good, end of story!
Reynella shouldnt use players out as excuses, refer to match against MV earlier in year when MV claimed they had few injuries. We all cried it doesnt matter, can only play with who you have available. Same goes when you/we lose!
As for the comment about the stand in coach, I listened to 3-quarter time address and IMO I think the players really missed some direction and focus from the man in charge.

I see Southern Districts won the Grand Final in the Country Championships today, well done to Jarrod Greenbank, best player in the final and lst & 3rd best in the other two games.

What happened to Christies ? Can you shed some light on this incredibly lame performance Dilligaf ---- 2-0 for the entire day.
We know that when this happens to Hackham or the Sharks its because they simply don't have the cattle, but a finals contender should have more than two shots at goal.

Sounds like you're a big fan of Murdoch, Joseph. I think saying that the 9 missing, if that number is accurate, are genuine best 21 players is a bit rich. If so, you name me the 9 players out there yesterday who don't make Reynella's best team. And we don't have "outside" players at Brighton, just inside players who can play outside. And I hope P32 donates his player payment to his favourite charity.

And BTP, playing anything but Association footy on June long weekend is ridiculous. All community leagues and other community sports have this weekend off and many people plan trips and other social things months in advance. You also being a great cricket loving man know that local cricketers love their mid-season break of 2 weeks at Xmas as do the footballers and probably moreso the administrators enjoy the week off in June each year.

I think we are being a little too hard on Murdock in my opinion he remained positive, its just the boys were not up to it on the day. Yes i will admit Brighton were very good and i am bemused as to why only one of their players was in the zone team. (Absolutely ridiculous)

The players out yesterday for Reynella were as follows:

S.Middleton
S.Bradshaw
J.Farrier
P.Threadgold
B.Bennett
B.Caruso
R.Frick

All have played A grade this year and play a significant role in the side.

But good on Brighton, i will look forward to finals

That is some serious outs..

I think Brighton realise this is their biggest window of oppurtunity in awhile and dotting all the i's and crossing the T's in their quest for a premiership.

Porties were pretty impressive yesterday.
We actually had more inside 50s than them and have a look at the score.
Some impressive coast to coast plays from the divers and they just had far too much polish for us.
I liked their new strip too, is that for good?

Brad has only played one A GRADE game, and that may have even been in round 1, maybe 2.

A bit of trivia,on my calculation, Saturday's Emus A Grade team only contained 7 players from last year's Grand Final team. Still won by over 50 goals, not a bad effort.

Not sure what number P32 is but if P32 is number 4 for Reynella then the Winies had more run with him on the field than number 22, thought he gave them a bit more flexibility and he got in the forward 50 as well

Went and saw the second half of Brighton v Reynella on the weekend. I haven't been to a SFL/Hills/Amateur game for a number of years. A few observations:

Good sized crowd, looked like "Ladies Day" was a roaring success for BDOS ;)
Brighton were remarkably small as a team - it was actually hard to pick out a ruckman
BDOS full forward "Deagenhart" (?) was an impressive kick for goal
Both sides had an even number of shots on goal until about the last 10-15 minutes of the match, yet BDOS were far more accurate
Reynella looked a bit slower, but lots of guys from both teams were coming down with cramp in the last quarter
Was amazed at how few rotations took place - good to see that in many ways
Enjoyed Sneezer's 3/4 time address - even if he did urge the team to focus on the first 10 minutes of the last quarter and Reynella were all over them in that time
Great to see the song being sung after a local game
Elijah Ware was hardly sighted by me (playing for Reynella)
Goalposts could be a bit higher
No 10 for Reynella was very short and didn't seem to have a match up - played half forward and then half back, got amongst it a bit but had a rough day overall.
Ground was in great nick.
All in all, I enjoyed going along to a local game as a neutral observer.

I noticed this when we played Reynella. The ruckmen seem to tap AWAY from him. Didnt make a big impact against us, but unfortunately the rest of the team did.
