My tip is the Mallala wouldn't be too upset to drop one before September and after being pushed in recent weeks by Balaklava, Two Wells and United shows how even the competition is. Round 13 against the Eagles at Lochiel and Round 16 at Balaklava are potential matches the Magpies could be beaten.

1st Mallala The Premiers are already 3 games clear in top spot and will finish minor premiers. The Magpies have many great players across the ground and have the talent to go through the minor round undefeated.
2nd Balaklava Balaklava are a much improved side this season and with their height across the ground are very hard to beat on a dry day. The Peckers have a good run home and play Hamley Bridge twice including the final round at home where a big win may secure second spot and the double chance.
3rd Hummock-Watchman Eagles Despite an early three match losing streak and change of coach due to work commitments, the experienced Eagles should finish third. The Eagles next three matches are tough, they face Two Wells (Away), Mallala (Home - Lochiel) and Balaklava (Away). If they can win 2 of the next 3 matches they will play finals again this season. Following that is winnable games against Virginia, United and Hamley Bridge before a finals shaping match against Two Wells at Lochiel in Round 19.
4th Two Wells The Roosters have hard run home and need to win 4 of their last 7 matches to play finals again this season. The Round 14 clash with Hamley Bridge can be pencilled in as a win, but the remaining matches are all 50/50. New recruit Alf Steed has been a big inclusion for the Roosters and his experience and leadership on the ground has been valuable for the young Roosters.
5th Virginia Virginia have been inconsistent so far this season and have a hard run home facing reigning Premiers Mallala twice. Full Forward Brendan Niklaus is the Rams key if he can kick some bags against some the teams at the top of the ladder Virginia could play finals.
6th United United slow start to the season will probably catch up with Tigers and they are probably too far back to make the finals. Longies have played one more match than the other 6 sides and have 2 byes in last 8 rounds. United will fancy their chances in next three matches against Two Wells, Virginia and Hamley Bridge. Perhaps a move to the midfield for Peter Burgoyne would spark United as he is wasted up forward if they can’t get the ball down to him often enough.
7th Hamley Bridge The Bombers have definitely improved this year, but will again collect the wooden spoon. Hamley Bridge may not get another win this season and can start planning the footy trip as they build for 2011.

Put me down for a carton (Super Dry thanks) that Hamley won't make the finals Norm! My word is good so hopefully this is a serious bet and you're willing to pay.
PS: I hope you have deep pockets because I'm pretty sure me and UF won't be the only ones to wanna have a piece of this!

Confidence that your team will do well is one thing but to place a team that has been last by a long way the last couple of years so far ahead is another.
I'll have a carton of Pale along with everyone else if you like?
Balak last? we'll see, we can only have a crack with our young list and see how we go.

Good work Ace, obviously you have more time on your hands that the rest of us to go back thru old posts.
My post that the young Balak list will have a crack isn't too far off at the moment, sitting 2nd but still a long way to go until finals time.
Comp is very even at the moment and apart from the Pies the other 3 finals spots are certainly still up for grabs.

Balaklava are the surprise packet for me this season, well done to those guys. After playing them first game of the year i new if they could keep there three big men on the park they would go ok. Its a credit to big stuart.
The other surprise for me is Two Wells fighting for a spot in the top 4 , it would be a massive back step for them to miss out on the finals this year. Also a tinny step back if they were to make the finals and not make the big dance .
Is it true that Peter Bourgoune Wants more money to play in the midfield ?
