Lets just clear up that we are UNITED Football Club!

Apparently a supporter who is not a member or anyway involved in our club had some criticism of the umpires at one of the breaks. This was an isolated incident and hasn't happended with any of our supporters before. At the end of the day the supporter was in the wrong and as he was supporting us on the day, the club has to wear that one on the chin.

A bit like one of Mallala's senior colts from Saturday who also wore one on the chin, except it was from one of the young United clowns whom was sitting on the bench at the time who ran on when a scuffle broke out  :shock:and belted him!! Apparently he was suspended earlier this year for 4 weeks for an incident in a senior colts game . Be interested to hear what action United took this week to ensure it doesnt happen again.

He got reported by the umpire and took the prescribed penalty. What more do you want our club to do. Each individual has surely got to be accountable for his own actions. :?

I just thought that maybe there might be a slightly bigger problem given he's obviously still only kid and given he's already been rubbed for 4 weeks earlier this year for what must have been a pretty significant incident given a headbutt earns just a weeks rest, and the fact he's been reported for a second time for running off the bench to belt someone........ uuummm let me think!!!

Find it hard to believe that Joel Wilson was suspended for one match when the umpire who reported Wilson was unsure wether or not Wilson headbutted the Hamley Bridge player. Why wasn't the report thrown out by the tribunal or why wasn't the umpire who reported Wilson advised to withdraw his report. More clubs should chose to take reports to the tribunal instead of taking the prescribed penalties and make the umpires and the APFL accountable. The umpires are paid big $$$ and there is only 4 umpires in Min, Prouse, Jenner and Mutch who are good umpires and when a tough game of A-grade football gets willing, they make good decisions under pressure and don't get rattled by the players or spectators. Other than Dougy Tallboy in the magoos the standard of umpires really drops away and when these umpires struggle to get the free kicks correct it is crazy to have them also setting the prescribed penalties as it just gives the umpires to much power.

As another season of APFL footy comes to a close, the final minor of the year couldn't be more exciting. The top 4 is set, but after minor premiers Malalla the order of the Hummocks-Watchman Eagles, Balaklava and Virginia could change by 5 this afternoon. The Mallala and Virginia clash is the match of the round and the Rams are the inform side of the competition and todays match could be a preview of the big dance. However with both the Eagles and the Peckers unlikely to lose today the Rams are going to have to make the last match of the season the hard way, from fourth spot and must win the 1st semi and prelim to get there. The Roosters could throw a spanner in the works by defeating the Eagles at Lochiel, the venue where the Roosters stunned Hummocks last year in the 1st semi on the way to a grand final appearance. Two Wells form this season has been up and down like a yo-yo this year and after struggling against the Eagles in the two previous meetings this season could well come out and upset the Eagles. Balaklava will praying for a Rooster win but they will also be praying for dry weather as they try to kick as many goals as possible against Hamley Bridge. With a 3.3% difference between Eagles and the Peckers in the race for the very valuable double chance the Balaklava faithful will be getting regular score updates from Lochiel and have their calculators running overtime.

You think its funny that a parent hits an U17 SD? Are you supporting the action of the parent SD? So you demand every other club has to take action but your club doesn't - get your nose out of the air and start to have an equitable view of the APFL.

Couldn't agree more.

The part I am having trouble with is the headbutt - this means he must have been looking at the bloke he struck unless he headbutted him in the back.

Absolultely - prescribed penalties give substandard umpires too much power. If the report is valid have the courage to stand in front of the tribunal and state your case. I known Two Wells should have done that in the abuse case alleged by the ranga umpire.

Well you thought wrong. The kid didn't get 4 games earlier this year at all (he may have been reported last year though). Neither event involved him running from the bench either so I'm not sure what you are trying to get at. :?

Sounds to me like Mallala is squeaky clean in every aspect of their club and has absolutely no flies on them at all.

Two Wells made the trip up the highway for its final match of the season and took on Hummocks-Watchman Eagles at Lochiel yesterday afternoon. Lochiel Oval held good memories for the Roosters, this was the venue where they upset the Eagles in last year 1st Semi Final. This was the last time Two Wells defeated Hummocks with the Eagles winning the Round 5 clash at Port Wakefield by 14 points while they also won at Two Wells in Round 12 by 21 points. Despite the Roosters being unable to reach this years finals both sides had alot to play for, the Roosters were looking to finish a disappointing season on a winning note, while a win for the Eagles would see them finish the season in second spot and secure the double chance. Two Wells continued its theme of blooding kids, with four senior colts in its line up. Dylan Wise and Luke Godfrey who made their A-grade debuts last week retained their spots, Jordan Shepard who made his A-grade debut in the Round 10 against Mallala was recalled while Tim Hines, the younger brother of rookie defender Daniel Hines was playing his first match in red and whites 1st side. Daniel Hines sent a scare through the Roosters camp during pre-match warm up during the final quater of the Reserves by rolling his ankle and having to hobble back to the changes rooms and having it strapped. The Roosters matched it with the Eagles for the first quarter and a half and despite trailing by 5 points at the first change and hit the front early in the second quarter. After this it would be all one way traffic, with the Rooster next goal not coming to midway through the last quarter when Chris Christofis goaled directly in front. The Eagles were dominant all over the ground with Joe Hunt unstopable up forward, Hunt had a day out kicking 10 goals. Man mountain Shaun Light was brilliant as was former Willaston premiership player Lee Belperio. Full Forward Paul Christofis was moved to centre half back will captain Scott Humpries was switched from defence to the midfield but the Eagles had all the answers kicking 18 of the last 20 goals to run out winners by 99 points. In a positive sign for the future Dylan Wise took a few strong marks, along with a goal in the last quarter and despite his light frame didn't look out of place in the seniors. Ned Seccafien and Tallan Leighton battled hard for the visitors but for many Roosters the final siren came as a relief that the season was over. Hummocks-Watchman Eagles are hitting top gear at the right time of the year and would have to start favourites in the Second Semi next Saturday despite the match being played at Mallala. It will be the first time Hummocks and Mallala have met in September since the 08 decider, the Magpies will probably be having nightmares during the week about the Premeirship that got away. The Magpies have been the best side of the competition for the last few years but have limped to Minor Premership with the Eagles, Peckers and Rams all in much better form. Its too early to write off the Magpies, but the Eagles will be confindent and fancy their chances of going all the way and taking thier dynasty to 6 flags in 10 years. Two Wells attention now turns to the Reserves, Senior and Junior Colts who all secured the double chance, with the Reserves and Junior Colts looking to go back to back while Cheeky's Senior Colts will be trying to go one better on last year.

Wouldnt that be nice!! Somehow I think they might have rested them considering how far in front they were on Saturday Jumbo. Has Jazz ever been injured in his career, he's an animal, fittest bloke ever!

No - Barnes pulled hammy in his first attack on the footy - took the mark - kicked the goal - lasted about another 5 minutes. Be extremely surprised if he comes up - but has good support close to hand.

Jazz - limped off 2Q I reckon - did a fair bit of stretching - he did return to the game and was a yard or two off his normal pace. He would play I would think.
