Lost with about two seconds left on the clock ---- don't think you can really call that "wobbles" ----- especially when the side you were playing finished higher than you on the ladder.

Great goal by the Cove player. Reynella way too negative, left it open for Cove.

I heard a rumour at the Sunday Under 16 GF tonight. At the 2nd semi Cove requested a minutes silence for a relative of a digger who died in service. Word has it that Brighton's response was not to have a minutes silence. Their response was that if there was a minutes silence for everyone that passed away in the SFL there would never be any footy.

If this rumour is true this is an absolute disgrace. It is time the Bombers moved from their isolated world and moved into into the real world with the rest of the country.

We are all proud of the diggers who serve for our country. It appears Brighton isn't. What a disgrace.

Yes Flaggies lost by a goal in a great finals battle today. Last qtr was what you want in finals.

I'm not sure who the 'oxygen thiefs' were that Shoe Boy was was referring to, but if one was Valleys Runner, then I agree.

You're a disgrace for not getting your facts right. A Brighton official was approached by the Cove President during the Under 16 game and was told that Cove Under 16 and C grade would be having a minutes silence between the 2 games. He was told that purely optional for the Brighton Under 16 lads to join in. Brighton looked like losing the game (which they did) and Brighton official said he wouldn't be too popular if he had to run out onto ground at the end of game and bark instructions to players about lining up for a minutes silence straight after a loss. If Cove had done the correct thing and made the approach at the start of the whole day then it may gave been a different story. Black armbands are appropriate for recognising someone's passing and if a club feels strong enough about doing a minutes silence then organise it properly. I might add that being a final it was a neutral venue so any request should have come from the SFL otherwise Cove could have done their own respect which is what they did. So Rush the Point, why don't you go back to your little Cove world and sort out your own problems because you guys have got plenty at the moment. Just becasue you had a rare win in a final against Brighton last night. Savour it buddy because its rare.

i don't know what game u watched, our boys lacked passion and intensity and showed they could have beaten the valleys with a 10 minute stint in the last qtr almost snatching it, and yes the oxygen thieves were out again shoeboy, a joke that they are allowed to run out there every week

Is that sort of like a bunch of criminals breathing in all the oxygen and leaving none for the general public. It is time the police stepped in and
arrested them.

So what do we take out of the weekend? Atrocious conditions yeaterday, does that put the Emu's at a major disadvantage or bring the group closer? Early forecast is for morning clouds and cool on Saturday at Porties 16C and mostly sunny and mild on Sunday at the $hoe 20C, finally some decent finals weather, fingers crossed.

Emu's for me on the saturday, match up well against Brighton and i'm certain they will prepare correctly this week after yesterdays slog.

Wineys for me on Sunday, wouldn't be surprised if this is a blow out of sorts.

BTP - can you look back through the records and tell us since the final 8 system how many GF winners have come from the Sunday prelim?

It was definitely a tough slog for all teams over the weekend and surely this must hurt them going into next weekend as i'm sure there would be some sore bodies after this weekends games.
I noticed a few players missing yesterday for the Emu's which also could affect there chances against the Bombers with Pittman, Greenbank now also missing which just adds to their list of already injured players. Throw into that potentially Earl missing after not playing the second half yesterday and the Emu's are starting to miss a few key players.
Before the weekend I would have put my money on Morphett Vale but I just don't know now with all those outs and the game yesterday.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

Have faith Panther, if it's one thing this group knows what to do it's win finals, depth at the Emu has not been a problem in the past, although we have had more injuries than any other year the next in line are more than capable at that standard. See you in a fortnight.

Lol...You boys do definitelyknow how to win finals that's for sure. And your absolutely correct, your team has been hit with a lot of injuries, who would have thought at the start of the year you would be without Pollard, Short, Pitman, Greenbank, Bennetts, Joraslafsky come finals time. Must be heartbreaking for the coach to read that list of players.
Still don't know about that big lanky bloke in the A's yesterday helping out Bode in the ruck, he looks almost as old as me! ;)

Top Eight began in 2002 when the two divisions came together. Only one winner from Sunday Prelim (in 2006) but I believe that has more to do with "who the teams were" than when they played their Prelim. If Minor Premier wins Qually they play their Prelim on Saturday. Most of those years the minor premier was clearly the best side in the field.
2002- Brighton were always going to win it
2003- Valley and Morphett dominated the season. Morphett eliminated in a bog at Aldinga left Valley with the Grand Final at their mercy.
2004 to 2009-- Morphett Vale ruled the SFL (2008 excepted)
2008- Cove proved over and over again they were better than Morphett during this year
Conclusion----- if you're the best side you'll still go top

No not the runner but this bloke is a farce,2 weeks running he has man handled kids from bothsides! Also we have SFL officials attending these finals games and this same runner becomes the 19 man as he is in play/coaching/abusing kids and man handling!!!

As for the oxygen thiefs they made a fool of themselves but that is just the norm be it on the football field or off!!!! I will get my moment in the sun and will be there to watch them handle defeat ;)
