I just spoke to someone who drove past the oval at Mallala and it sounds like the oval is almost completely under water. 4 goals might win the A's tomorrow!

Wonder what hamleys oval looks like then MC.

Good luck to all sides in the finals - not the best day today with the weather but it will even out the games.

Mallala v Eagles may be won in selection - will Earl play after his 6 week injury layoff? Reckon he will be okay but may get a tester early. Will Barnes play after tugging the hammy last week? I doubt it and very risky call if he does. Will Wilson play with his suspect hammy? Yes he will be fine.

Look forward to the game from under the verandah of course.

I think Mallala have been the best team all year because of there deapth. Haveing one or two blokes out ever week hasnt stoped them finishing top. yOU'D better show Mallala the respect they have earned. Ive seen alot of footy an i know Mallala have got what it takes to win.

Massive win by Mallala on Saturday and the Magpies will enjoy the week off to recover from the terrible conditions at Mallala Oval on Saturday. Livewire forward Daniel Feeley kicked Mallala's two goals including soccering the winner during the last quarter. It is a fantastic effort by Mallalla to make four grand finals in row and my tip is they will face Virginia in the Grand Final at Balaklava. Virginia are in red hot form at the moment and Balaklava were unlucky to face them in a knock out semi final after just missing out on the double chance. Stuart Lamond has done a great job with the Peckers this season and they should be again around the mark next season. Although Hummocks-Watchman Eagles have a days extra rest and they have beaten the Rams on all three occasions this season, the Eagles are carrying some injuries and the home preliminary final for the Rams is a huge advantage. Interesting reading the mail, Sunday morning both Two Wells and United coaching positions were advertised. Probably part of their constitutions to advertise every year but will be interesting to see whose in charge of the Roosters and the Tigers next year. Virginia and Balaklava were too good for my Roosters in the Reserves and Seniors Colts on Saturday and both sides will have to bounce back against Mallala on Saturday to book a place in the Grand Final.

I'm told both of Mallala's goals were "soccered off the ground" and the second one was in the last couple of minutes to win them the game.

Agree with you Foggy except I think Hummocks might get up in the colts.

Apparently the Balak oval isn't in the best of conditions at the moment. The Hockey was played there on the weekend and they tore it to shreds.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

No, not in good nick, waiting for some sun to dry it out. Hockey used the boggest part of the ground to set up their 1 field for the Grand Finals on the weekend and played all games on it instead of having side by side fields as they normally do and the result is a very large brown rectangle where they played.

Can't do much about it keeping other sports off when you don't own your ground.

Surface will hopefully be ok for the GF with only our Senior Colts still active the oval will get a rest during the week.

My tips are Hummocks, Two Wells, Two Wells and Mallala

My tips for the mail medal:
Jared Wilson
Caleb Howell
Heath Pym
Joel Mont

I wonder if Buschy has learnt his lesson regarding the amount of alcohol one should drink whilst hosting an event such as the mail medal, unlikely but lets hope! Looking forward to hearing from the guest speaker N.Daniher all the same.

Tommorrows prelim promises to be an absolute classic. Still no Barnes, Young or Guthberg named for HWE for this match but would be very surprised if Barnes was to miss another preliminary final, he's arguably HWE most valuable player IMO. Virginia will be cherry ripe and i think everyone expects Virginia to win the game, especially them, however I believe HWE will scrape through and get their ticket into another grand final. Whoever looses this one would certainly consider this season a massive missed opportunity, as I believe both of them are capable of knocking off the pies in next weeks big one. All will be decided in 8 days time  !

Can't see Barnes coming up - looked like a 6 weeker to me - but he has the resources to turn it into a 3 weeker (maybe).....

I must say I hope Jazz Wilson finally takes the Assoc Medal home, hes been a fantastic player over the past 10+ years and I doubt there would be a more deserving player to have never won the award. It is always interesting to sit there and see who the umps give the votes to, there are often a few surprises and im sure this year will be no different. And I agree with Swamp, surely the President of the Assoc can lay off the goon until after the presentations have been made, have we not learnt anything from the Fev?

MC any truth to the rumour Pop Walker has already been in contact with Fev? :D
