Can someone tell me has the sfl grand final been played and the emus won it? I ask the question as I seen a car on the road the other day with a bomper sticker on it saying "emus again in 2010". It got me thinking that my earlier prediction of the emus not even making the gf was out a bit. Or are they that confident (or cocky) that they are going to come thru that they are already selling them?

Saw the same sticker the other day too GTP- but I would assume this was the emu theme for the 2010 season as opposed to jumping the gun for another A grade flag.....

You are quite correct MatteeG, Emus have a new bumper sticker each year that happens to be this year's choice (they are designed to ryme)

and fair enough.
For someone to suggest that on a public forum is a disgrace.
What a sh!t card to try and play without the facts.

Early forecast is for morning clouds and cool on Saturday at Porties 16C and mostly sunny and mild on Sunday at the $hoe 20C, finally some decent finals weather, fingers crossed.

Emu's for me on the saturday, match up well against Brighton and i'm certain they will prepare correctly this week after yesterdays slog.

Wineys for me on Sunday, wouldn't be surprised if this is a blow out of sorts.

BTP - can you look back through the records and tell us since the final 8 system how many GF winners have come from the Sunday prelim?

It was definitely a tough slog for all teams over the weekend and surely this must hurt them going into next weekend as i'm sure there would be some sore bodies after this weekends games.
I noticed a few players missing yesterday for the Emu's which also could affect there chances against the Bombers with Pittman, Greenbank now also missing which just adds to their list of already injured players. Throw into that potentially Earl missing after not playing the second half yesterday and the Emu's are starting to miss a few key players.
Before the weekend I would have put my money on Morphett Vale but I just don't know now with all those outs and the game yesterday.

Morphett Vale have injuries and plenty of sore bodies but we will have 21 players who are battle
hardened and are ready to have a crack at the self acclaimed premiship favorites.
Will the Bomber boys be coming over the hill to watch training again tomorrow?
Tell them to come under the veranda much better atmosphere cold beer and $7 meals.

Interesting to see this season that only 9 of the 15 clubs made up the finals for each of the grades 14s through to A grade.
No christies team in any grade! (when is the last time that happened?)
Porties only had 2, both eliminated first week.
Townies had all 3 of theirs but all exited first week also.
Morph Vale finished minor premier in the 14s and 16s and both went out in straight sets.
Statiscally Happy Valley has the best chance of having the most teams make a GF, with 4 out of 5 in prelims.

cove and valley have same amount of teams in prelim

Valleys 14s and B grade best chance of making GF - 16s a big chance but the 18s will have their reality check this week - lets hope the runner/president behaves himself

Cove will get a thrashing in A grade I predict
