A Grade
Mallala 6.15.51 def Virginia 7.8.50

B Grade
Mallala 9.11.65 def. Virginia 6.7.43

ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT. What an effort by the entire footy club, was truly one of the great days in our clubs history. The reserves finished 4th on percentage after the minor round, and to belt the top side so convincingly was a real testimont to the belief and character shown by the young fellas in our reserves team. It was a clear case of a reserves team beating a B grade team on Saturday, the youth, leg speed and high skill level was a credit to all involved. It was amusing to hear several of the Ram faithful accusing Mallala of stacking the B Grade. uuummmm :? :?
As for the A Grade, absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! To somehow claim the underdog status after loosing just 3 games for the season was motivation in itself. Winning a GF by 1 point is what we all dream about and to do it on a day when both senior teams take home the bacon is just so satisfying for everyone involved at our footy club. Admittedly we should have won by more given our inaccuracy in front of the big sticks but hey it made it an exciting spectacle in the last qtr. Amazing effort!! To kick 8 goals for the entire finals series and win the premiership is an amazing effort!!

Congratulations to Balaklava for winning the Senior Colts too, I hope the young fella that was attacked is OK and is able to enjoy his success, to have his day ended like that is cruel.

All aboard........

After the final siren there was a bit of push and shove on the far wing where the players had congragated to celebrate together. Whilst this was going on some Balaklava players not interested in the melee were making their way towards the home bench. One of these players was king hit by a Two Wells player who had left their bench, the Pecker player involved was knocked unconcious and then allegedly (is on video) kneed in the head whilst on the ground by the same Roosters player. The attack was both unprevoked and cowardly and was witnessed by APFL Vice President, Andy Seccafine, who was one of the first on the scene.

If the league does not take serious action against this player and the Two Wells club their is something seriously wrong with the league. The player knocked out spent the night in hospital and was still very groggy at the junior wind up Sunday afternoon.

Totally agree there Hazbeen! I saw the lad get belted but didn't see the alleged kneeing. Poor form by the young lad and would say he would now be a marked man if he plays in this league again! Piss weak bastard!

I agree he should be punished but surely you cant punish the club the one stupid kids behaviour.

As he ran off the bench directly at the player should the coaching staff when the melee started on the far wing stopped the players off the bench from joining in? It is the clubs duty of care to protect their players and by allowing them to leave the bench to become involved in an after the siren incident you have breached that duty of care.

Also heard 3rd hand that the Rooster player involved had been suspended internally by the club during the year for other incidents. Clearly a player with such a temperment and behavioural issues needs to be contained when such incidents occur, not left to run 50 metres and attack an opposition player doing the right thing and avoiding the conflict.

Interesting game of footy in the A Grade, thought Mallala dominated the first quarter and should've been alot further in front, and almost put the game out of Virginia's reach by 1/4 time (kicked 2.6). Rimmer had an excellent first half, as did the big ranga in the ruck (#18?).

The Virginia supporters near the bench were hilarious, the WESLOs had to come over and stop them storming the ground when Niklaus had that shot. It looked good off the boot too, and the big man starting celebrating which got the crowd up.

Massive crowd too, well done to Balaklava, hosted the day really well.

And how good is the cricket oval in the Mallala Hotel?

How can you tell me that the coaching staff had any idea that when he ran off the bench his intenti was to go king hit some1? Does that mean when ever some1 attempts to run of the bench the coach should automatically stop the player in fear of a king hit?

I wasnt at the game but can you give me th kids name hazbeen and ill confim if hes been suspended by the club before. i havent heard anything like that before.

If there is a fight on and kids are running off the bench theres a fair chance they are headed in that direction. If only to protect your own kids from getting hurt running into a confrontation the coaches should of grabbed them at games end and sent them towards the change rooms.

Don't know the kids name, only repeating what I heard during the afternoon and the next day at the wind up. Ask Andy or Jock Brechin they were right there in the league attire and Andy chased after the kid involved to catch him before more people got hurt.

Jake Smith I think his name was. I was there Hound Dog and from where I was standing (behind the TW coaches box in front of the steak sanga stand! 8) ) as soon as he ran onto the ground I immediately knew his intention was to belt somebody.

Wasn't in the fight Doggy Boy, it was 80 metres from the fight, 1 Balak player all by his own avoiding the trouble on the other side of the ground and this peanut runs straight at him.

The kid in question Hazbeen had been suspended by the club earlier for abusing another kid (Mallala I think it was). There was no indication he was going to do what he did after the game on Saturday. He has now played his last game for Two Wells and will never be welcomed back into the club again, Two Wells has worked hard to stamp out this element and after the crap the club has copped this year, this was the last straw. The club met with the League during the B grade grand final, I understand the kid has been reported and hopefully gets suspended from all games for at least a season so he understands that the behaviour is totally unacceptable to football.

I also believe U17s coach apologised to the Balaklava lads after he tore a new one to his own team - be assured Two Wells does not condone or accept that behaviour from its players - players that want to put the club up in a poor light are not welcome.

I also trust the Balaklava lad that copped the treatment is okay and continues to play football.

7-8 years ago a junior playing his 1st senior game was spear tackled (8 days in hospital) right in front vice president. Nothing done no reports. :? NOW! we have kids king hitting other kids and high profile head butting seniors getting off with a smack on the wrist. Great example. NO BALLS APFL.

Didn't see the full incident myself, looked up to see the lad falling to the ground and the two wells lad taking another swing at him on the way down . Just speaking to my wife she said she seen it all. It was a knee to the head thatvknicked him out . My son was sitting with her who is eight years old seen it all too. I had to talk to him and let him know that whatvhe saw was not right and what ever happens on field stays on field.
