You can get your twenty cents to ping at Gazza from Mr. Grant.
Actually, it's from the little SOB who sent him twenty cents in the mail with a letter pleeeeaading for him to spurn Port's big offer and stay at the Western Oval.
Grant chokes up, sheds a tear or two and knocks back Port's offer.
FOR TWENTY FREAKIN' CENTS!
Everyone can eat s#!t! A big bag of s#!t! I'm the greatest man in the world!

i say Good luck to Gazza. and the Geelong supporters ripping in to him, if you didnt have him your premiership drought would still be going
AFL clubs would be making decisions on players futures from half way through the season. I bet they don't tell the players and delist or trade at the end of the season.
As much as I hate it the game at the top level is now a business, the players are employees and the good ones will always get poached/headhunted. If a competitor of my current employer offered me big coin to change jobs I would be there, its my career as it is Abletts, I take issue at the way this has been done and all the secrets and back door dealings. Ablett would hane known long ago he was leaving, even if it was not made public he and the other players should have been made to tell at the least the senior people at their respective clubs.

Understand the distress this would have caused nearly all Cats fans, but I really can't understand how irrational most are being .. Ablett has made a decision for HIS future as every single one of us is responsible for doing - Whether it proves the right or wrong decision, or even indifferent, that's for him to live with and noone else.
Pickering, has also done his job and is copping plenty of irrational backlash for it.
The Gold Coast have operated within the confines of the rules and regulations they are governed by, they have performed well in their sole duty which is to their club and members.
The AFL probably deservedly come under fire from some quarters for the amount of concessions granted to the new clubs, but at the same time any new club deserves a reasonable leg up .. No new club will ever be successful if they win 10 games in 10 years (eg).
Bridge construction time for most Cats fans I think.

To be honest, I am quite devo he has left. I had been holding out faint hope all year he would stay, but unfortunately he has gone. I'm a pretty full on Cats supporter and Gary is my favourite player of all time, so when your favourite player ups and leaves to go to another club, it can be quite upsetting. Call me a sook if you want, but I'm pretty devo. It's a weird feeling. People may say get over it, it's only a game, but as we all know, AFL is more than a game. It's a part of our life that gives great joy and sadness. unfortunately, I'm feeling the sadness at the moment. I'll get over it. Just may take a while.
So you've seen everything have you?
Yep
Have you ever seen a man eat his own head?
No
Well you haven't seen everything then have you.

Mate I can certainly understand that, and God help us if the passion is taken away from any code of sport .. You are right, time is the answer - Hopefully those people really hurt by these events can one day see them for what they are.

Why bring rationality and logic into what is an essentially an emotional reaction. Its all well and good for supporters of other clubs to say 'get over it' when your haven't lost your best player. No other club has lost their best player. Pickering has done his job...well congratu ******* lations.

"It's only a game" is one of the worst things someone can say to you when your team loses or your best player leaves, obviously the person who said that is not a true footy fan!
With the success that Geelong have had over the past 3 years you can hardly expect any of us to feel sorry for them.
Going and throwing 20c coins at Ablett because he made a decision that impacts on his life long financial security is a bit rich and I know REB well enough to know he wouldn't actually do it.
They haven't even played a game yet FFS. The other 16 AFL clubs signed off on their recruiting terms, the AFL want to expand....whats so f**** hard to understand?
When they beat your team by 119 points in a GF, then you can hate them.

But like CP has said, HTFU guys.
I was waiting for you to come in and spin some crap. Surprised it took you so long. Just hope for your sake you don't lose a player from your team who is the best in the league. I can imagine the carry on coming from you. It's done and dusted, so let me mourn in peace.
