Surely that stuff doesn't happen.
Sambo's a good player but MIller treats that clubs money as if it's his own.

agree with that sentiment smithy but he was desperate to keep Sambo.

Fair enough, maybe things have changed since I was there.
I don't think it's unfair to suggest that although he isn't the treasurer, too much power is wielded by the one person and has been the case since the formation of the club.

That is still a 150 run flogging, in a T20 no less.
There is not that big a diff between section 1 & 2 surely.
As for M.Thomas, going by the score, he had a HUGE game.
Pity this week he is in for a shocker ;)

Perhaps next year we should consider a Sect 1 T20 comp and a comp for the rest. Would prevent the need for these horrible preseason games.

theres not a large gap, but KCC aren't that good a section 2 side, so the gap is quite large between the 2 sides... wouldt take to much out of todays game...

Re the KCC side that "played" :) in that game, i would point out that only 3 blokes from our Section 2 played,
with 5 blokes from Section 5 and 3 blokes from Section 7, and our policy was to give all 11 a bowl (exc W/K).

Nevertheless, we were well and truly flogged and i dont know who was missing from Coves Section 1 side, hence it would be very difficult to put a guage on Coves standard.

If i had to give an opinion based purely on what i saw as w/k on Sunday, i would say that Cove will struggle to make the top 4-6 in Section 1.

Apart from that, they were a good bunch of blokes and very friendly.
I wish them well in our association.

How much, would you suggest, would the have to have flogged you by if they wre, in your eyes, to be considered a threat in Section One?

To be fair to Cove, i probably should not have judged them in any way based on that game.
I tried to assess their standard solely by looking at their bowling attack, their fielding, and the very few blokes that got to bat.
Obviously a much much clearer guage will come next round when they play again.

Due to the very limited observation and the way the game played out, one cant place too much credence on my evaluation of their standard - much to early indeed - i merely attempted to give a 1st impression based on what i saw and comparing it to players whom i have seen perform inour association previously.

Spot on, i don't think you can judge too much from any T20 games, especially pre-season, that will hold you in much stead for 75/75 cricket.

Still a 150 run pantsing is a fairly convinsing way to 'get the cobwebs out' before the season propper!

speaking to mates at cove they had kennilworth 4 for 10 and then bowled part timers with at least 5 of their premiership team from last season out, including there 2 best batsmen.

The only way Cove will not make the Top 4 is if they under estimate the standard of the A&SCA.
