I would think you have the inside word on how Steven Thomas would be going with a return to the roo's a grade. Not sure i agree with the best bat in the comp part but certainly one of the best in the comp when he was playing a few years back.

How did other clubs go at the selection table? We will be fielding a very young side especially with a 15 year old debutant. Amazing how many guys turn up to train on selection night before the first game.

Re: Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association 2010/11
Most players I have ever seen at a Ramblers training this evening. Great signs. Also possibly fielding 4 junior teams after our first ever junior team last year.
Experienced A grade team selected with only the one young fella under 20. young blokes in the Bs. Will be interesting with Geoff Stanley to front up against old club in first game, despite South Road's pathetic late attempts to prevent him playing. An absolute disgrace that club is these days. I reckon Moe would agree with me there.

What did they try and do AF to prevent him playing?
Cant wait to show off our little gun! One of the best juniors to come through our club thats for sure and we all have big hopes for our young fella. Gun in the making IMO

Re: Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association 2010/11
usual story - unfinancial. however he only played 5 games last season and paid per game. they have had this clearance for 6 weeks so left it till last minute. piss poor IMO.
Couple of new faces for us this year who should be quality cricketers and hopefully help us into top 4.
15 is very very young for sect 1. perhaps he is destined for bigger things than WYC.

Is there something bigger than WYC AF?
.
Seriously though he will play a high level of district cricket if he wants to.

Re: Adelaide and Suburban Cricket Association 2010/11
Yeah I think this will be one of the only senior games he plays for us throughout the next 5-6 years!!
Bloods, can u name the last two 15 year old debutants or do I have a better knowledge of the club then yourself?
Fair enough AF with stans! Guess it's just what south road are like at present and shows how they are being run as a whole!!
With WOS I would assume because the have picked up some new players and not registered or alongthose lines yet!!

Coromandel naming an unchanged lineup from last years grand final, with the exception of our interstate ex district import from melbourne in for last years captain Coulter

been there done that...
seriously though, you guys aren't chucking him in the deep end to early? obviously im not in the know, however going from exeriences at the club, juniors get a massive push sometimes because they are juniors, which really frustrates me because i feel it can affect a young lads development if they are not ready. sometimes kids got picked in the higher levels just because of a youth policy, you have to earn your spot. however on the flip side of that if there a genuinely good enough, thats great... i just think they should be eased into it.

Wow, Keswick must be strong this year with Bayboy in the B's...
Who is this S Curyer. I played against him last year, but might have got him on a bad day. Is he as good as R Curyer?

Rusty's brother. Better than rusty IMO if he applys himself. could destroy attacks with the bat. Plus hes a better fielder. Will be interesting to see if he can string a couple of scores together this year.

The Hunter talking himself down that's all I read from the above post!
Our young fella is more then ready!! Robbie Hopkins had his debut as a 15 yr old at wyc and the next debuted in A grade district! I reckon we give this kid a couple more years but not many more! That's if he continues to play district or if he stays with us withh his mates!!

Jamie Quirk played his first A grade game when he was 14, took 4 wickets for the match. Hasnt done him any harm.

not saying it affects all young blokes, at all depends on the individual. i debut at 15 too, didnt have a negative affect on me... ive just seen many young lads come up to early and it can affect there confidents alot and can be damaging to there cricket... but im always chuffed when i see a young fella do great...
