How is everyone going with the points rule. I hear that there a a couple of clubs who will be over the limit to begin with, even before they can recruit anyone. Going to be a very weakened standard over the next 3-4 years.

Agreed MC, it will certainly drop the standard. Im not sure how the points are allocated but out of Mallala's premiership team, there were only 2 players that arent locals next season, McEvoy and Walsh, so hopefully Mallala wont be affected too much, but given I dont understand the system yet I could be wrong :?

you guys might not be able to recruit many with only having a limit of 7. those guys will prob take out 3 or 4 points already!

Yeah I realise that and realistically we're probably not looking to, given the quality of juniors coming through to seniors this year and the development of the younger boys. I am certain the young boys will improve again next season which means we're not relying on imports like most other clubs

Hypothetically, if somene wanted to play for Mallala, live in Mallala and from another league. How many points would that person be?

3 points westy. If they returned to their original club where they played juniors then they would be 0 points. ;)

Does it have the professionals clause, where a person moves for their job and not for footy?

It wouldn't change Ace. Its the league last played in. Unless they come straight from the AFL like Burgo then they are 5 points.

Are you going down to the pub later on tonight mate? I see they have a band playing from about 8:30.

Players should be given some sort of credit for living locally. If players are not "recruited" and just want to play footy for the town they just moved to then the player will get punished and clubs will opt keep that person in the B's even though they warrent the call up

Fair enough, this point system sounds like a headache. Mind you, then if we recruit players from Lochiel, Auburn, Watchman, Wakey, Hummocks, etc are they locals? oh what a drama.

More importantly, ill head for a couple straight after but no partying for me, heading out for tea.

Points system is shit. Doesn't go on where they live at all. Just where they've last played.

I got a haircut at 5, otherwise I'd join ya for one. I'll let the others do the karaoke tonight though.

I know Hamley Bridge will need some classy footballers to be any chance next year, well i've heard they have signed a classy player in Josh Moody from Portland in the SAAFL.
He should & will dominate that competition next year, lets hope the club gets a few more players that CAN play like Josh, they then should start climbing the ladder & being more competitive.

Hopefully Season 2011 will be the year of the Rooster :D Two Wells should retain all players with Port Districts recruits Paul Christofis and Christian Nurton to line up for the Roosters again next season. 2009 Producer Medal runner-up and Two Wells favourite son Lee Allmond will be set for a big year after an injury riddled 2010 campaign. Two Wells will be looking to recruit a quality ruckman and key defender over the summer to add to one of the best midfields in the APFL as the Roosters aim to return to finals action next year.
