RE; HVFC JUNIOR COACHES

I have been a member at the club for 15yrs and watching the coaching staff from 2010 compared to the coaching staff in 2009 in our junior grades u/14s u/16s i can not beleive how the comittee got it so wrong in there selection in 2010. In 2009 the coach u/14s had 52 players to choose from. No easy task. The coach had the respect but wasnt a favourite with the parents of the sunday side as to play saturday football under him you had to earn it. He was full of discipline and ensured team rules were adhered to. Eg Everyone back for presentations. The club was empty this year at presentations. Why wasnt he reappointed???????? Bottom line should have been re-appointed.

The u/16s coach of 2009 is also a victim of the inner club sanctum he too should have been re-appointed.I feel that had both men coached the juniors in 2010 HVFC may have had more than 1 premiership this year. The u/16 coach is a very tactical coach and also had support from his players whom now has been snatched up bye rival club flagstaff hill as b grade coach. The time and effort that this coach put in was a credit to him.

By the sounds of the noises coming out of Denham Avenue the Roos will be back in business for 2011

LOT of work to do BTP, but we can be optimistic.

Interesting coaching appointment Moe... any ideas what made the panel swing to this hockey bloke?

They based their decision on what Ric Charlesworth has done for hockey in Australia. ;)

What's going on at Happy Valley FC? There seems to be a lot of turmoil within the club. Do the problems arise from committee level or has a bad culture developed. It's a shame HV were once a feared force through most grades.

AFTERTHESIREN

The problem is the committee. But hopefully the new committee and coach can get it right. Needs to get rid of A CLUB FOR THE BOYS IMAGE

From what I hear in 09 the 14s coach only gives certain players a fair go ie games played and time on the field then when finals came along a number of players were told don't bother training your no longer required. This is coming from a 14s player and parents. This maybe why not given the job

So you’re saying it’s more about winning than about development with this coach assert

Seems that way spanner. Juniors is about development of the boys to men as much as winning premierships. I do agree with the a and b grade system at clubs with duel sides but you need to manage your players if you have an excess. We had two lads come over mid season last year whom had played 5 games out of 11 each when they had two teams. Not sure how it went this season as the club withheld players from coaching.

I think a rival SFL club may have something to say about matters before paperwork and bank accounts are finalised at shoes ... a zoned & traditional Westies feeder club!

Crow Man I dunno who you are but the guy that coached the U14s in 2009 wasnt given a coaching job at Valleys probably due to the number of complaints that he got. Steve Davenport who coached the U16s this year had to put up with alot of residual garbage because of him and to get them to a prelim final and beat the top team (Brighton) in the semi's was a good job really...

As for our 14s this year Mick Ruddock did a great job and won a flag at the same time as DEVELOPING players - the guy from 2009 didnt do this. The Sunday side also made the GF and lost in narrow margin to Brighton who have an interesting Sunday side

But Crowman I will agree Rod Mitchell is a big loss to Valleys and wish him the best of luck at Flaggies
