(who coached B grade whilst porter was coaching A grade at the same club mind you?? yea, some sort of board and selection panel you're running down there! If this is the case, it's no wonder your stuck in div 5!
as i stated in a previous post... i assume the committee would think the same... all ive heard are bad reports about him.. also forums on here don't speak highly of him. few people who ive spoken to from valleys (i also assume the committee would have been in contact with them as well) aren't to keen on him either very good sources. they said he's trouble... not sure we wont that at PFC... no one in SFL will hire him so im pretty sure thats telling you something... as i stated in a earlier post, i don't know him personally and im sure he's a good bloke, i can only go on what ive heard. anyways moving on...
personally im rapt with the appointment, and very much look forward to seeing how the new coach goes and some new ideas to the club..
First i would like to congratulate justin on his appointment as coach next year . Alot has been said in regard's to the Ben Porter situation my concern is that it seems the interview panel has taken as gospel what a few people at his most recent club have said about him(negative comments) and WUB to even bring up comments said on this footy site as having any credence at all is laughable! Anyone can say anything on this site about anyone without signing their actual name to it so things said on here should be taken with a pinch of salt.I think the interview panel should at least have given Ben the opportunity to defend himself against any concerns the club may have had, he's coaching experience alone should have at least got him a phonecall. I would be interested to hear what other forum user's opinions are on this.
A lot of other forum users dont really care how Plympton run their affairs and are more concerned with what is happening at their own clubs. No club is perfect so giving thoughts on what has been done wrong at other clubs is a tad hypocritical.

Well said Jabber. I'm sure there are plenty of clubs around that haven't interviewed a potential coach for one reason for another. Yes it may turn out to be a mistake but everyone makes those...

To me the flag is insignificant, it would just be a delightful by-product of going up to Div 4. That to me is the most important thing.
Hopefully Jugs' internet credit runs out, or he gets a clue, one or the other.
That's where you and I are different.
Having seen our A grade lose their last 3 Grand Finals (and having played in one of them) I believe that going up a division is a "delightful by-product" of winning a premiership!! We have gone up from Div 7 to 6, and Div 6 to 5 (twice) all without the ultimate success. Our last a grade flag was in 1994. An A grade premiership means everything to our club - that is the most important thing to me!
You just need to make the GF for what you want, especially seeing the premiership is insignificant to you
agree with you SD. looking back at last year, i was playing to gain promotion and going into the gf, i saw winning as an extra bonus. theres no doubt this year that i played to win a flag, not to move up a div. guess you can give yourself an A to make the GF + promotion and an A+ to win. at the end of the day theres no reunions for runners up and moving up a div is going to make winning a flag harder in the next year...
The difference being that i'm not an A Grade player, i just want the club up a division. I have no doubt that the players, coaches etc want a flag.
I think after those three prelims my thougths changed to 'lets just get the hell out of this division!'

well mr beefy.. some people do care. but thanks for your opinion... the fact he wasnt even contacted is an absolute disgrace! How can someone with this much experience be ignored by a club in div 5. and plympton go with a b grade coach. makes me think!
