Does anyone know of any confirmed recruits for any of the teams

A plethora of them to Willaston I'm told and forking out big money to get them

J Taylor ex Port/South & all points in between (paid big money to SA to secure this one)
J Campbell ex NAFC/SAAFL
J Jones ex SAAFL - The word is this guy is to get $150 per week even if he doesn't play
plus a possible 3 or 4 others.

The Bushmans is going to have to at least double its turnover to pay for these & some local blokes(if the locals get lucky).

Cash is not an issue when you finish bottom, willaston and freeling will get to see if the points system delivers on its promise over the next 2 years with ready made recruits on board for 2011.

Although this theory didn't seem to aid the lions last year, does anyone know if the lions managed to hang on to their prized recruits from 2010?

Sounds as though Pinchy's been building his little past players nest egg over the last few seasons.
Assuming money is no issue for the Greenlegs, crops through Sheaok Log and Freeling looking good.
Could be some contenders pushing the Panthers in 2011!!!

We have been lucky that there has only been minor damage to the wickets as a result of the match and have been able to get them up within two weeks. If however there had been rain before or during the game, those pitches would have been rendered unusable at the business end of the season. That would have been pretty hard to take, considering the countless hours of volunteer effort to curate those decks all season. Unfortunately these things don't seem to matter to the AFL.

Hence why we said thanks but no thanks

We have had so much rain in Ango last year that even the Gabba-grass is growing and needs constant manicuring,
The oval has required much 'curation' as well after it was turned into Lake Eyre late in the football season.

Hasn't this been tried before, buying a premiership that is? Spend massive coin in 2011, miss out again and then you're broke for another 5-6 years, stars move on again so the circle recommences with heavy hearts.
This is a bad habit used by a couple of clubs.

Yes this seems to be the formula for the modern game and tanunda, barossa and freeling have been the best in the business at it over the past 5 years. When and if Tanunda's reign comes to an end they will go down in history as one of, if not, the best team ever seen in the blg, i cant see those memories weighing heavy on any magpie heart for the next 5-6 years.

Also heard Salter has put the hard word on Gibson to make his decision by the first training. If he stays, he will have to relinquish the captaincy.

Not too sure on this one just yet, there are plenty of rumours getting around just like Billy was lining up for Glenelg. Silly season Mohammad so lets just wait and see.

Word has it that Mr Gibson is a done deal at the Min Man Eagles... a handy replacement for the injured Brad Taylor...
Tim Clarke was the #1 player in the AFL

Leigh Westhoff wanted to come back to Tanunda last year didn't he?
Centrals wouldn't let him return and I believe still have that power,
Will be interesting if that is the case to see if things are different this year.
Would be a handy replacement if Sammy Agars makes it at the Bloods.

Heath Lawry was meeting with South today.
Dont know how it went or whether he was just playing or being interviewed to coach.

Herald today confirmed Gibson leaving Nuri, citing footy had become a chore due to being so passionate over a lot of years and looking for motivation and a fresh start.

My info was in recent years he's been unhappy with the amount of recruiting done (and coin spent by the club) on trying to build up the list to a stage that it could challenge.
