I agree
post mortem wrote:Until the SFL works it out and splits the comp back into 2 divs it's going nowhere. The powers to be have no idea. Marion, Aldinga, Hackham, Lonsdale, Morphies and the like will never match it with the top 5. And it's the junior teams that are hurting. Junior teams being flogged by 30 plus goals each week will only turn kids off footy. As for the power house teams being allowed to have 50 kids in one age group on its books is disgraceful. Junior teams should be limited to 35 players per list with excess sent to the struggling clubs for the benefit of all. Get rid of the 4 team junior Sunday comp and spread these kids amongst the battlers. Time for the league to have some bite and tell Edwardstown that when they were invited to the league they had 2 years to bring their juniors across. Where are they??? Bring them over this year or p*#s off!

The SFL gets the gate takings for finals at Aldinga, lower clubs having finals may help them out financially, as Hackham has the BBQ at the South Adelaide GF. Maybe a way the SFL is being proactive to help balance the league

Of the top 4 sides -

Reynella - Brighton, MV, Cove and Noarlunga x 2
Brighton - Reynella, MV, Cove and Happy Valley x 2
MV - Brighton, Reynella, Happy Valley and Port Noarlunga x 2
Cove - Brighton, Reynella, Noarlunga and Edwardstown x 2

So going by that and last years finishing Cove have the easiest run of the top 4, interesting to note that Cove play Towns at Towns twice within 3 weeks i think which seems a bit strange?

MV and Reynella have to cop the BYE either side of the long weekend break, wouldn't think that would suit either team?

Oh well, it's out and i guess each team will make the most of their draw to benefit them.

At this early stage is a race between 4 again, them being Reynella, Brighton, MV and Cove, can't see any of the bottom 4 cracking these 4 powerhouses! Brighton being the only team in that group not to win a flag in recent times!

Round 16 looks like there's been a mistake - Cove are listed twice and Aldinga not at all. Would think that Aldinga are playing at Edwardstown and Cove at Morphett Vale.

my EXEL version dosnt have that mistake, and your assumption is correct. we're at E-Town and Cove @ MV.

Also hear that Brad Hunter had somehow managed to package himself into the Ellis boys package (from victor) and will be playing where they are next year. So do these two players make much of an impact on Brightons chances next year, I know I saw Norsworthy's name in the paper regularly and was a key player in their midfield but hardly seen Hunter's.

Brighton wont have Norsworthy back.

Chad Is a very handy player and would leave a hole in any team.. I know him personally great guy who said he loved his year at Brighton and would definitely return if things don't go his way with sturt. You would think the bombers would have enough depth that it wouldn't impact another strong finals campaign . Not to sure about hunter haven seen him play much Footy or heard much about him..

Marion have lost a lot

turner + A Knight + D knight to Goolwa
Flaherty/Stone ??? maybe ironbank
Bell + McGowan + Spud Andrews to colnel light gardens
P McGowan to Plympton
Wade to Meadows
Neary + underwood to port pirie
Red Muff + Scott Beckham retired
Exelby to coach lonsdale

That makes 15...and there may be more
It is not keamy's fault. he has been excellent so far with his enthusiasm, knowledge and drills. Training has been first class fore those who are there........
Has also spent a lot of time on the phone to potential players. He has kept his cards pretty close to his chest about any developments; but i get the impression he is reluctant to blow too much hot air up peoples arses. he asks them if they are interested, and if they dont seem like it he says thanks very much.

there could be a really good opportunity for some young blokes who are dissatisfied where they are; either by the current coach, or through lack of opportunity to come across and step up and get the game time and exposure they are after, and play on a beautiful oval with 1st class facilities.

so if anyone is interested or knows anyone who might fit this criteria perhaps they would get in contact with the club/keamy. there is a sign out the front with details...............................................

How are the Cobras adapting to Mr Stringer....and vice-versa...?
