And no, not just any ol' bum off the street can play Magpies.. ;) For the record, the C&CCA component of the U23's has been finalised (see earlier post by Phantom); the C&CCA 1st Xl is finalised (waiting on 1 confirmation) and the Over 33's is just about finalised too, just waiting on confirmation from 3 players. 8)

Thats ok Goat Herder, just had someone on facebook who saw the event and wanted to know if they could play. I didnt think so, but just thought I would ask the question.

Could look at playing another game at the same time as the main if you really wanted to get another game happening. Possibly even sell spots in those teams somehow.

What this whole thing needs is a celebrity appearance and it'll be complete. Put a call into the SACA and see if any blokes want to have a hit, only trouble is they play down in Tas the day after so might not be available. Failing that, Port/Crows players might be a good option at this time of year. Or for a laugh the 36ers? Maybe could even get one or two of the thunderbirds girls? Tricky in 6 days, but if someone could rustle up 11 people from local sporting teams we could make a composite side from the first 2 games plus a few walk ins to take on the celebrities, could get some extra publicity and more interest.

Speaking of guest players, Goat Herder I could ask one of my old team mates and former Power Premiership player to play for the Over 33s with me next Sunday? He's a dirty left handed slogger and was a pretty skilful footballer in his day and if he ever plays cricket again (which I don't think he will) it will be with Rose Park.

Can anyone out there help with this?
looks like there's going to be atleast 2-300 people there

What council is the ground in? Ill give them a call and see if they can provide something for the day. I know that the 'Scout Recycling Centres' use to loan out cages/steel baskets for can and bottle collection, which would then provide more money from the day too... Ill give them a buzz in the hour Im not at work tmw

The person that got us the redbacks shirts, hat and bat is attempting to get a redbacks player to appear on the day but not sure how that is going. I also had a PM from someone saying they have emailed the Crows, Adelaide United SC and the 36rs (who ever that was can you send me another msg, mustve deleted your last msg while doing a clear out)

Hopefully someone has contacts and we can get at least 1 person to come and sign some autographs on the day!

Fantastic stuff Duck-man and all the others who are helping with the day.

Ill spread the word on the other boards for members who dont come in here.

Let me know where I can drop off some SAFooty.net hats for prizes (maybe for the biggest six in each game by a SAFooty.net member? or highest score?) I might also be able to get a Crows/Power auction item also for you.

If there is anything else we can do let me know

Cheers

Normal white cricketing attire mate, just wear the shirt and cap provided. The guys playing on turf will obviously need spikes. ;)

I'm afraid to say that I will be unable to attend as I live way down south, but just wanted to give my thumbs up to Duck-man and everyone here for organising what I reckon will be a great day for a great cause. Makes me very proud to be an Aussie. Good work to everyone involved!

I have arranged a signed Crows footy from the 2011 playing squad. Maybe we could auction the footy off.
