Ive had so many offers from people to help Ive forgotten whos offered to umpire

Need two volunteers for the U23s vs imparja AND the "show case" games too please.... first 4 replies will be it :)

Thanking you kindly 8)

C&CCA umpire, Andrew Price, has offered to umpire during the day too. 8)

I have had an offer from one of our Exec members to score twice, so I've pencilled her in to score for our Over 33's and our 1st Xl. Duck', do we still need someone to offer to score in the U23's match mate?

Hit up A. Burgess to score, everyone knows he keeps the tidiest books in C&CCA ;)

I will if one hasn't been arranged already.. ;)

Who's looking after the U23's?? Did you want to have a C&CCA rep & a PDCA 'manage' the side jointly?

I'm not fussed how the circle is marked, as long as it is and the matches are held in accordance with internationally sanctioned T20 rules. I think we'd sell ourselves short if we compromised on the rules.

fineleg, the U23's vs Imparja match will be held on the turf pitch (bottom oval) and Over 33's on hard wicket on the top oval. The 1st Xl match @ 2:30-3pm will be on the turf pitch. 8)

Did you manage to free yourself up Oz? :D

im keen to see willie serle and peter Graham fire up for the impaja side (seeing as it will be at groover) but im not keen on facing those blokes. but the faster they come the faster they go off the bat right? haha

At the PDCA v C&CCA assoc game back in Nov, both assoc had those assoc banners, i think it would be a good idea to get hold of them and put them up on the day as well.

So we have:

Broca011 and MadMax to umpire the 'Masters'

Andrew Price and OKC to umpire the Imparja vs U23s

Andrew Price and ??? to umpire the 'feature' (If Mr Price is happy to umpire both)

I hadnt organised scorers yet, but surely we only need 1 for each game so who ever it is you have lined up G.H tell them theyve got the job for the O33s and first XI games. Then we only need 1 more for the U23s.

Can someone scan and email me a copy of an un-used page frrom a score book so I can print some out for Sunday :)

I know a lot of people have thrown in some great ideas on here for Sunday, but how does this idea sound Duck-Mann and panel. After the main game you could have a contest similar to what is used in Mildura for Willowfest. Creates a bit of interest and it's good to see the big hitters do battle. I've cut and pasted it from their site, but it would be good to see the likes of smasha and co have a crack at this. Just a suggestion........

The Willowfest Whack

Each Year Willowfest goes in search of the biggest wacker in the country (as seen on Channel 9’s Cricket Show). Each wacker can enter at a cost of $10 per entry.

To enter a batter, a tosser (or the batter may elect to toss for him/herself) and a catcher are required. Each "Wacker" is given 3 attempts in the preliminary round with the longest 3 "Wackers" going through to the finals. A bonus 10 metres is given to the "Wack" if the catcher catches it. In the finals each finalist is given 5 attempts with the longest "wack" being judged the winner taking home the prize money.

Some rules for those that require clarification...

- Twenty 20 cricket rules state that only 5 fielders can field on the leg side at any point of time.

- a maximum of two fielders can be outside the ring in the first 6 overs and a maximum of five fielders can be outside the ring for the remaining 14 overs.

- each bowler can bowl a maximum of 4 overs

- a bonus of 6 runs is awarded to the batting team in case the bowling team does not begin their 20th over before 75 minutes.

- following a no-ball as a result of overstepping, the next ball shall be a Free Hit. For this ball, the batsman is not given given out by any way in the cricket rules apart from being run-out.

Also, after reading the responses about the restricted run-up I agree we should "unleash" the bowlers... The shortened run-up was my suggestion but I agree we are not restricted for time and it will enhance the spectacle having the best bowlers running in full-steam and letting loose!
