It's not bad, but it's not great either. Bit of a 'meh' moofie.

"48 Shades" (2006), shown last night by 7.

Based on the novel "48 Shades of Brown" by Nick Earls.
Set in Brisbane about a high school student who returns from overseas and shares a house with his young aunt and an attractive blonde (both uni students).
Student becomes besotted with blonde, blah, blah, blah.

The book is apparently very good, but film was just lacklustre (except for a couple of scenes at a party).

Black Swan

Hysterical.

In every sense.

Aronofsky's either having the greatest in-joke of all time.

Or his head is completely up his proverbial.

Probably a bit of both...

Another local comedy stinker.

Director is an actor who had never worked behind the camera before.

And it shows...

Little Fockers- saw it by default- typical American rehashing something that worked well in the first of this tired trilogy which offers up the same comedy of embarrassment and vulgarity as its predecessors-
to see one of the greats like Robert De Niro humiliate himself in this humourless threequel is sad.
I'm pretty sure there's a lot more to life than being really, really, ridiculously good looking. And I plan on finding out what that is.

Each to their own, but I found it hilarious (admittedly, there is a flat spot with about 40 minutes to go that takes a while to get back into gear). Having said that, Will Ferrell can be an acquired taste - I still don't "get" Anchorman, but found Blades Of Glory a hoot.

If you didn't laugh at one thing in that movie, then I feel sorry for you. Not a great movie, but some LOL moments in it.

Watched "I am number 4" on Sunday.. The bits I stayed awake for just reminded me how much I like sleeping.

Not sure if it wanted to be a Twilight teen love thing (probably why I fell asleep) or something else.. Either way, not worth 2 hours on a Sunday.
