On the footy side of things, we had a decent hit out vs Glenunga at Webb oval this afternoon. In the first match our B's/C's went down by 15 or so goals. In their defense, the side was basically 3/4 of last years C grade. There were some good patches there, I am sure the coaches got what they wanted out of it.

In the A's, after Glenunga lead by about a goal at half time we won by 7 or so goals. Very good second half, and gives us some good confidence leading in to our next trial vs Fitzroy. It was good to get some game time, certainly beats the internal trials. Glenunga will be more than competitive in Div 6.

agree there masha glenunga will play finals for sure as will your A grade i thought in patches you guys looked very good! scotty mac was super at full forward gee's he works hard to keep it in his area i was impressed also with hayes he was very good and number 10 CHF aldridge?? and tim aliossi was best on ground for sure he just kept finding it even when put to half back
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

I think Scotty Mac is still on his way down from the hanger he took......well almost took, guess you need to hold the ball longer then just the fall to the ground.

I thought playing a 5 man defense was an interesting tactic since we were only 20 odd goals down!!!! But seriously it was nice to have a run around and look forward to the season finally getting underway in a few weeks.

I am almost 100% sure the B's/C's kick off at 1830, then the A's at 2030.

Watched the first half of West Croydon V Hamley Bridge on Sunday, West Croydon looked a bit like a rabble in the warm up but were very impressive from then on. Macpherson has them playing a good style of footy, they run the ball out of defence very well.

In saying that, Hamley Bridge are woeful, outside of Pepe, Moody and Lockwood they only have a few decent players and then it drops off very fast.

A former North Haven C Grader at full back paints a picture of their depth

Also went down and had a look at this game West Croyden went alright much to my surprise, FF/CHF for WC can play and on his day looks like he is capable of some big bags think his name is Nathen Bryant, FB for WC is also a good player seen him Towell up Lockleys FF in last years grand final and was fantastic again on the weekend (although i think hes wasted back there a bit) main problem they will have this year is with Vassali moving they were very light on in the Ruck division, onballers will be roving regularly from the opposition ruckmans hand

The other guy with blue shorts is from Roopena in Whyalla, been cleared already.

Does it matter what coloured shorts people wear in a trial match if they have already signed? Just hurry up with the shorts and socks order! :D

Yeah Vassali would have been very handy for them, he is a solid lad.

Didn't know you were there Pic, if I knew who to look out for I would have said hello. I only know that you look a bit like the bloke from the new KFC add.

Nah mate wear whatever shorts and socks you want at trials just commenting on the fact there's a few Rosies boys making the switch to WC, I wore different socks this week and I have always played at the one club so def have no issue with it.

Wasn't much in it. Just a stray fend off after a marking contest from a Fitzroy player (who took the mark) but gee did the north haven player make the most of it. I am sure if he was on here he would say the Fitzroy bloke should be arrested for man slaughter. Gave the umpire a fair mouthfull as well which was pretty awful seeing as how he was just a volunteer. He finished his rant then took his guernsey off and walked off. This was the 2nd quarter of the early game. Pretty ordinary

As many on here would be well aware I am not a massive fan of North Haven and was not persuaded in any way after watching them Saturday. From all reports Fiztroy had plenty of senior experienced players out and looked it. North Haven full strength team was allowed to do what they wanted. Havens looked very young and not much has changed from last year. They do have some pace but very small lean bodies will not like the physical contact week in week out
