the easiest draw of all 15 clubs[/quote]

Marion & OSB as 2 of your double ups. There's some easy pickings. Hope you jag all four.

Shouldn't some of you star junior grades take the next step and play senior football for your club.

What the ???????
Would you care to explain what the hell you are raving about - closing down in the middle of an "A" game ?

Also, you may be interested to know that some 80% of our A Grade, and most of our B Grade played in junior grades for our club.

How is any players within the SFL worth $900 a game??? Would other clubs pay this amount to to have these players???

maybe they should have spent that coin on changing their jumpers and fixing their club rooms... ;)

And your clubrooms are the best in the league too i guess.

Where do we get the money? Same place everyone gets it, Bar Trade, Sponsorship & Bar Trade. It just that our supporters actually spend a lot of time at our Club all year round. We dont get handouts like other clubs in our area.

The $ figures you are quoting are ridiculous, and MR FOOTY has no foundation to base the amounts quoted on. You are just being malicious, and like most of your posts on here, it is a case of "I Heard this".

Nyani was a junior at our club, and who cares if he shopped around, I am sure he would have been looked at by alot of clubs. Seb did not make it in the SANFL & returns to a Club who he won a Mail Medal at & also made him feel welcome. I am sure he is not the first SFL player not to make it at league level. As for Radley, well he returns too after 2 years at another club.
FFS, we have players coming back to the club, yet we are lambasted for it.

I can understand some of the posters on the forum having sympathy towards Aldinga & Hackham on here, but Marion?? Honestly??

I for one am happy to see them in this position for once.
While they were playing in 4 gf's in a row and constantly flogging teams, they were happy to dole out the sledging to us, Morphy's, about how we were a disgrace to the league, scum & poor cousins to the Rams (others might agree).
Once that elusive flag was won however, it was bye bye to the good times.

The Marion fooball club is a unique set up. Money made from the pokies & bar is distributed among the other sporting clubs, but the footy club by far recieves the most. This is while they get revenue as well from home games running their own bar downstairs, & bbq & canteen, car parking (from a community club??). A big case of double dipping.

Now, having been there for 3 years, i will get to the crux of why their culture is suffering. The players treat the club like a toilet. They had no respect for the people working there, the Club Marion Members hated going there when the players were there & most committee members would not help control them.

I feel for some of the older heads that still try their utmost every year, but i for one hope Marion Football Club cop some embarassing hidings this season.

That's why the culture was shot.
It wasn't the players club it was the 'Club Marion' patrons club.
People talking over the coach at prezzos...
The old pokie ducks giving out the stink eye when we got slightly rowdy Sat night...
The family dinner at the bistro we 'interupted' with our function nights...

The club treats the players like a toilet Moe.
That's what happens when you try to make a community club into a footy club.

Waking up this morning knowing we're about to play for premiership points this afternoon was a great feeling. Although there has been more talk about Morphy Park and their "cheating" on here rather than talking about the round one clashes.

On my home front, I'm pretty pumped up for the season that lay ahead at Shark Park. Today though, we're heading into the "unknown". We don't really know alot about Marion, other than what we've read in the Messenger, that they were struggling to fill 2 teams to play out the season in 2011. Although I'm a bit disapointed Keamy, an Aldinga Club Legend, left us hanging and took the Marion job instead of ours, things couldn't have worked out any better for us. Brad Whyatt stayed on for his 3rd year, went for a stroll down the recruiting trail, and came back with a full basket of goodies. Speaking to Coach Whyatt reguarly throughout the process, at times the smile was impossible to wipe from his face. After the first couple of guys signed, we had past players, including a top 5 in the Mail Medal and a dual-A Grade B&F winner, contacting Brad and requesting to return to Shark Park. As someone who has been at Aldinga for 8 years now, in my experince, this was unheard of. We had good players wanting to play for us! Today is the first step. If we topple the Rams today, excellent. If we don't, it will be interesting to see how we bounce back in a couple weeks time.

As our season kicks off today, I'd like to take this opportunity to wish all other clubs the best for the season ahead.

Hey Moe, funny how all that money at Marion, and you lot still pay your players more. You might have been there for years and "heard" things, i know you and your brother, and its people like you guys that are making it an untenable place for footballers. Hence they go elsewhere.

I agree WLF it is the "Club Marion" committee that is holding the MFC back. The football club bring in 100's of people Saturdays and Sundays for 6 months of the year so they should get the lions share of the money. or do people think the marching girls deserve more???

Marion will struggle and struggle bad until the club is a more welcoming environment for players and family's after games. But this doesn't matter because once your club runs out of money again half way through this year you will b back to where you were last year anyway.

From a personal point of view, i think Marion have needed to bottom out, to realize what is important, and basically start again. and i wish them luck in this.

I totally agree TC, hopefully the new developments at the Marion Social Club, can benefit the players and stop the negativity from the people WLF mention. If MVP have that sort of cash to throw maybe they could make room for a second wing that most ovals have and maybe cut some trees down that hang over the oval and keep the ball in play!

Morph Park 11-19 Hawks 4-6
Pretty impressed with the Hawks effort today. Very competitive at the ball and their pressure was great. Roos only got four goals after halftime.

Saw first half at Aldinga before I moved on to Hackham.
Sharks very quick at the fall of the ball and got away with it with real pace. They were only five up at halftime so I obviously missed their best two quarters when they booted 12 to 1 ---- winning margin exactly 100 points

The team sheets show six Marion player lined up in both the A's and the B's. What happens when the injury bug hits?

Enjoy Fisho  Your club certainly deserves it after all you hard work put in at the start of last season to even put a team on the park, plus with the guys signed on for this year, it's gotta be a great feeling start off with a win. The comp needs a competitive Aldinga.

Sorry, I don't quite get that. Am I meant to be crying because I don't have a penis, or because the grout in the shower is getting cracked?
