Magpiespower, are you certain that Stephen never played for West. I was sure i saw footage of him kicking a great goal for them on a very tight angle, i think it was '78.

Come on Sturt supporters pick a team. I have no idea of who were our best.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

hondo71...
Next to Fullback Bruce Lennon in the back pocket you could stick
Sturt/Carlton/Crows player & 'Son of Sandy'
Ben Nelson.
Then there's former Sturt/Fitzroy/Western Bulldogs/Hawthorn
Matthew Dent.
GO THE GROWL!!!

Started off at St Kilda so i wouldn't think he'd qualify.......

As a non Sturt supporter, this would be the side i'd pick.

F Feast, Kitschke, Eckermann

HF Atkinson, Motley, Thomson

C Mattner, S Russell, Pearce

HB Underwood, Lennon Whittlesea

B J Viney, Dent, Sanderson

RUCK Davies, T Viney, Dilena

Robert Klomp would have to be in there surely...
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Fort sturt you can add John murphy - south melbourne and brenton miels - richmond. Also, a Richard Murrie played for sturt and turned up later at either geelong or brisbane.

Were does Donald Dickie fit in, he played for sturt as well.

This was Schaches career - he didn't go straight to Brisbane from Sturt  but I don't think Torrens can claim him:
Sturt:
1988: ? games, 63 goals (club leading goalscorer)
Torrens:
1989: 7 games, 19 goals 12 behinds (as well as 5 preseason matches and 8 goals)
1990: 20 games, 45 goals 36 behinds (club leading goalscorer)
Brisbane:
1991: ? games, 47 goals (club leading goalscorer)
1992: ? games, 17 goals
Overall he played 29 matches for Brisbane
Eagles:
1993: 18 games, 34 goals 35 behinds (Premiership player, as well as 5 preseason matches)
1994: 11 games, 25 goals 10 behinds

F: Skipworth Hentschel Stokes
HF: Shirley Pavlich S.Phillipou
C: Cicolella Camporeale Pesch
HB: Tape McGregor Breuer
B: Whelan Shattock G.Freeborn
R: Biglands Burton S.Sziller
Int: S.Freeborn M.Kluzek Bock
Emergency: Crowell

I was able to come up with a team in which no one played league for Torrens or Woodville, and played League before playing AFL.
The exception though is Skipworth who debuted with the Crows before he debuted for the Eagles.
