check a few pages back, a couple of us answered.

Why change the image, as if any of the other clubs have reason to look down on willaston.

Pinch I have heard around the traps the 2 Baker boys where a disgrace in the first quarter on Saturday.Surely coach Irving will not tolerate this sort of behaviour and will be sending les baker into the 2's after his performance in the first quarter. Was told the effort of Chris McLean and Josh Taylor was terrific and both players good chances at this years Schluter Medal.
Also told of a shocking goal umpires decision at the Nuriootpa v South game in the dying minutes that cost South a come from behind victory.

The Baker boys are worth their gate money in themselves.
With interest I see Irving has also handed the captaincy back to the Baker boy.
Problems in Round 1, still more to come I would suggest Pinchy????

tanunda- still cant see anyone beating them
Barossa- Have the stability that no other club seems to have this year. 2 key outs but will still be thereabouts
centrals- will miss the young gun midfielders
willaston- will take time to gel, next year is their time if all new players stick around, wouldnt surprise to see them go from woodenspooners to premiers in a year

freeling- Greenwood to be sacked half way through the year, eichner to take over and a late charge to finals just falls short
south- Lawry will make a huge difference, will win the medal from CHB
Angaston- will only finish above kapunda and nuri if kingsley plays most of the season
kapunda- nothing to get excited about here
nuri- salter in for a tough initiation

Yeah i heard the exact same thing from a bloke playing in the game, apparently the goal umpire gave it only for the central umpire to run down and tell him it was a point, apparently it was clearly a goal.

The subject of goal umpiring has been raised at a number of games already this year. I know goal umpires are volunteers, but there always seems to be a couple of "my team" decisions at a game. It happened at Kap vs Wilaston game. These decisions can have a big effect on a game. Shouldn't an umpire step in if it's clearly a goal to everyone at the game - players and spectators - we don't want teams winning because their goal umpire is a bit shortsighted.

Bin, if 4 goal wins are a problem i surely hope there is a lot more of that to come.

Bakes is a star of this minor league, so its natural that he will attract the jealousy and desire from non willaston supporters to see him fail. 2 schluter medals tells me that doesn't keep him up at night.

Just another storm in this often pitiful online tea cup.

Do you think Harvey's chances of going back to back for the Schluter medal will be weakened with Angaston struggling this year or will class prevail?

Pinchy, I'm sure very few footballers in the BLG are jealous of either Baker boy; more likely they feel pity for such wasted talent in recent years. Or anticipation of the next onfield implosion that hurts the team ,or the next coach who gets sacked because they tried to tell them this.
A win is a win, but the season lasts 15 more matches.

Hotspur delusion is another reason for this dribble. see above.

Passion is what makes good players great, Jack Reiwold offered a recent example of this v st kilda.

I guess players who are out there to enjoy a kick couldn't understand but who cares no one goes to the game to watch them participate.

With Freeling having the bye this week I had a look at the second half of the central v ango game. Had a shadow for the afternoon but still a cut above the rest. Also noticed another playing coach joining the competition and it wasn't Waca.

Is Diddles being used more as a "impact" player now?

Ah PASSION...I was wondering when that old chesnut would appear. And you think we dribble? Passion is a word often used to cover up a multitude of sins -a football cliche - usually to make something wrong look right. No-one said Baker wasn't a good player, but people go to see the explosions of bad temper and unsportsmanship .. ie refusing to acknowledge his team, opponents or coach two years ago at Kapunda and leaving the oval. Was that passion?
Riewoldt's not a good example - one moment of bad judgement is not a career of reports and suspensions. Remember the bl&g don't recognise a best and FAIREST.
Enough said. Get over him.

A crime of passion was a reasonable argument for slapping your missus around once upon a time, maybe i am just living in the past.

Apparently Harvey may struggle to get votes because Angaston are going to struggle,
Yet the majority of posters are saying Gawler Centrals are going to be around the mark,
and the Panthers with a bit of straight kicking in the first quarter should've won Saturday.
Not sure this is all making sense.
What makes even less sense is Harvey and the guy who tagged him (Asher) got best for their respective sides on Saturday, What the??? To put in a small point on the Willaston discussion, as a player, it does give opposition teams a boost
when the Bakers etc start barking insults at team-mates. No doubt Shaun can play though, and Les (on his day).
Not sure which is the bigger pay-off, couldn't tell you if I would want them on my side or not.

The Goal Umpiring decision that cost South the Game on Saturday was one of many disgraceful decisions throughout the day that affected BOTH teams. It seemed that one Umpire had a real issue with a particular South Player (who was yellow carded by him in the third quarter) and was then heard bragging about their past differences in the bar after the game. Seems it stems back to Central District Underage days.... not very Professional was the general feeling that I got in the bar... As an observer standing not 20 feet from that particular goal I clearly saw the Central Umpire run in and question the Goal Umpire. I thought that the Goal Umpire was the one who decided if he needed clarification? Apart from that, it was a hard fought game and both teams showed glimpses of brilliance, Nuri should have sealed it in the third qtr but Souths come-back in the last was great footy to watch.
If you're not living on the edge... you're taking up too much room...
