At Mallala, he played across half back sweeping up a treat and dominating may I add, though he swapped in the middle for a breather occasionally. Was a superstar at Mallala, would've easily been in the top 2-4 in the clubs B&F while he was there each year.

Just curious if they had a bit of a trial game as is being supected on here. No problem from me if they did, just wondering if they have pulled one over our esteem leaders of the APFL........

Virginia did play a match but the league is doing nothing about it, typical

Gawler Barossa tennis league is pretty strong now days amongst the top teams. No.1 and No.2 positions anyway.

But general overall standard over the last 10 years has dropped away quite badly.

Oh well. Hopefully something can be worked out with the cricket situation though...

Our top players would be able to compete well I feel Gilbert, but the depth would certainly be tested. I remember our top 2 men at Long Plains having a doubles scratchy against mallala's top 2 a bit over a year ago and winning 9-4.

If it was Sam Dunstan and Dan Griff that your top two men played and defeated.....then Sam and Dan must have been intoxicated, badly hungover or suffering Swine Flu :)

It was Sam and Ian Jenkin that played top on this day. Sam and Griff may have been another story but that is the only thing that I can guage our competitiveness on.

Balaklava gave the Hamley Bombers a bit of footy lesson on Saturday to the tune of 25 goals. The 2 FF options, Dawson and Brice, kicked 20 between them and the Wolf Pack leader, Benny Catford, carving them up in midfield.

Is that the best HB have got to offer or did they have some key players out of carrying injuries? from my vantage point some of their younger guys tries hard but the imports in Catterall and co were ineffective.

The Peckers had Wheaton (ill) and Cocks (ankle) out the side that played the Roosters the week before.

I reckon Hamley had their captain out, and one of their players got injured early.
Another got injured in the last, and I think Christmann had shoulder problems as well.

Difference is that it was only 10-15 goals most weeks 2-3 years ago not 25, also a sh#t load less cash getting handed out at the end of the game back then for mediocracy.

what is going to be the fallout from the Virginia vs Solomontown game/trial/funday on Saturday?

Has the APFL board been ignored after refusing permission?

Had the APFL board even been approached by Virginia to gain permission to hold the trial?

Did the APFL board give approval?

Did the APFL board just say "call it a fun day" and we'll look the other way?

Many questions need answering, the clubs need to find out what has happened, who approved it and why was this OK to go ahead when it has always been disallowed before.

Are we about to see a changing of the guard???

I think that the league needs to have a look at how they run the whole competition out there maybe introducing one more team, this would stop teams such as Virginias having 2 lots of 2 Buys in a row, not good for any team in my opinion, Rather than pin pointing a team for something they may or may not have done. Who was actually there anyone, the closest was someone that drove past and seen guys running around the oval with different colour gurnseys on.... Some one help all this controversy is killing me lol.........
