Agree with you Dutchy, it might be appropriate for the Assoc to take some action and impose a hefty fine on them or even deduct points from A Grade or B Grade.

No doubt Silky, BCC or PP will be able to come up with some excuse to defend the club.

Then again perhaps someone stole the phone box in Bridgewater !!
For some backing a Melb Cup winner at 125/1 is a dream........for me its a fact !!!

yeh not too sure on the minor details of the 14s incident but i heard it came down to alistair bowes being a tool on the friday night... which still is a pretty poor reason for 1 bloke to deny 13yr olds a hit on a saturday morning...

dutchy - yeh the wedding did stuff all grades round a little bit but really which is more import a game of hills cricket or a wedding... jeeez.

not sure how deducting points from the a's and b's would be a relevent punishment???

come in spinner - 'it sums up the club'?? yeh what happened on the wkend was pretty poor from the u14s, but the cgrade and dgrade forfeit was unavoidable in the end but id hardly start ripping into the club... a's and b's in finals and probably the best junior club going round in recent years.. maybe not now tho.

A few early TVCA predictions for the finals:

A Grade: I hate to say it, but Lobey are looking the goods for a 4th straight flag. Hopefully Cambrai can spoil the party. They appear to be playing some good cricket atm, but their batting is a worry.

A2 Grade: Having played against all these guys this year, I'm leaning towards Eden Valley even though we bowled them out for 69 when we played them. Kersbrook should make the final.

B Grade; Not really sure, but i think Gum are near the top. It would be good to see them get up.

dutchy youve probably found out already but youll be playing the mighty gators this week in what hopefully is a match played in better spirits that on sat. half of that stirling side should seriously consider giving their wrists the emo punishment. they are a pack of absolute cheating f@ckwits. (i leave hamish and scottie huff out of this- absolute legends) nothng made me happier than smashing my old club all over the park and beating them in game which shouldve been theirs. their keeper- thorpe?? is the biggest tool ive ever met. when we had a few heated words at each other (just b4 he got his off stump knocked out of the ground) he even gave me the deniro classic "are you talkin to me" what a joke another of those 4ft tough guys. did u enjoy having a look at the competition on sat dutchy? bit of pressure on you this week with no s.maslin for this game.
VOTE1 Tom Maslin for the seat of MAYO!!

remember watching a game involving stirling and mylor a few years ago and that same wicket keeper got into a heated battle with fleet after mylor snatched victory from them. recall the man getting very angry at fleet who came back at him with the old missus joke and he snapped! remember some stirling players not even shacking hands after the game!

stuffed the club around a little bit? if it was only a little bit then surely between the C & D grade you could have managed 11 players to give the C grade a run?? I doubt that 11 players from the C & D grade were going to the wedding...

now I dare say the wedding was planned mroe than 12 months ago? If so then the club could have given more than 1/2 hour notice that it was forfeiting???

or even arranged for most grade to have the bye this week?

it really aint that hard.....anyway you guaranteed us a finals berth without having to work for it so thanks, SCIB's would be the ones that are spewing as if we lost they would have grabbed 4th...

LOL...only pressure on me is to survive more than one ball after coming off a Golden!!! things have changed with S Maslin thankfully....pretty happy we are playing at the Valley not a shitty little ground....I dont know their keeper but what was the story wearing shorts??? thats not on even in the lower grades....not too many guys in the Stirling club under 35, I fear what will happen to them in the next 5-10 years

anyway onto this week, look forward to the battle! a few guys on both sides have played with the opposite club which puts a tad more pressue on them

HCA Finals -

A Grade
Meadows v Bridgewater @ Balhannah*
Aldgate V Onka;s @ Meadows*

B Grade
Aldgate V Bridgewater @ Basket Range
Mylor v SCIB @ Uraidla

C Grade
Eastern Ranges v Stirling @ Ironbank
Aldgate V Mt Lofty @ Happy Valley

D Grade
Aldgate Pump Hotel v Eastern Ranges @ Ironbank / Cherry Gardens
Aldgate v Scott Creek Ironbank @ Heathfield High Bottom

* not confirmed but my assumptions...B,C & D are confirmed

Questions - why play a final at Baskets? They have listed 2 games at SCIB's, surely they wouldnt play one at Scott Creek? WHy havent they used Stirling or Mylor ovals for the lower grades? (some may say becuase these 2 teams are well represented on the HCA committee?)
