The Cinderella Demons win by 5 goals in the Parklands.

An undermanned Lockleys opened with an 8 goal 1st quarter and continued on to play it's first 4 quarter effort for the season, holding off ALFC in an entertaining match. The Demons had contributions from all of their 21 and played strong contested footy....and with some very straight kicking in perfect conditions, the scoreboard looked after itself. Well done, funny how it doesn't really matter who is available and who is not, when 21 contribute, that is what is expected every week just an honest effort from everyone over 4 quarters.

What will we see next week contenders or pretenders?

So from what iv heard calderbank has tried start on a few boys after a few frothies. If your new to the club wouldn't you try to earn the respect from the boys instead of trying to knock their heads off.
Apparently he sacked the captain without even telling him and then saying in front of the blokes sorry mate ur not captain this year. Wouldn't think he will be around next year as he has started on quite a few lads and even after they have told him to get in the taxi he still wants to go toe to toe.
If it wasn't for Jim Smith having a crisis meeting with the ex captain he and his brother would be at another club.

WOW!

What a game at Hope Valley today.

The final siren sounded and the scores showed even on the scoreboard - then the goal umps compared scores and found that Hope Valley had won by a point

One of the best games of footy I've seen in a long time from go to whoa, almost goal for goal the whole game. I think the biggest lead was 2 or 3 goals at any given stage. A draw would have probably been a fitting end as both clubs worked tirelessly for 4 quarters.

In saying that, I'm glad we're finally on the board ;)

Just for the record "Farbs" the Lockleys boys do extremely well with the ladies.

The question is - Will they play enough 4 quarter contested football this season - to get to "The Ball"? We'll all find out more on how they are going, when they host you guys for a "Triple Header", this week.

I can assure you it will be nothing like the Sydney Mardi Gras! ;)

1. Well if you know JC so well. why would you have a crack at him on a open forum. If you know him so well you would also know that he takes the players wellfare and interests very seriously. He did not announce the ex skip was not captain this year in front of anybody but him first. More of a story to go with that, but you dont deserve or are not in any position to know it. Then announced the new skip in front of everyone. On that, the new skip was well deserved. He trained every single night of pre season, is a leader of the youth that we have in the club, is involved in the junior training also and stood out a country mile when it came to picking the role of skip !
2. Moorey did not put him in a taxi at all. I did. End of story.
3. I know he did. Good on him. Glad he enjoyed it. He also played for Plympton on the weekend !
You may think you know things, but I suggest you stop listening to the "chinese whispers" your getting told.

Plympton should be more concerned with the actions of a certain water boy during the A grade. <edit: I believed I pre-warned you about this :? > Very poor form in what was otherwise a very entertaining day of football

They only went back because of Jimmy smith.
Maybe you should start looking at why still to this day and until you start getting rid of the DEAD wood from your club you will not get out of div 5 and the rate the club is going div 6 is looking a reality. Why is it that so many quality footballers have left the club and say the same thing" Too many idiots hang around that club and they need to rid them" if it wasn't for jamo the club would be finished.

Jc is a top bloke obviously not after a few drinks

Good win for the A grade yesterday over Woodville South by 77 points, it was good to see them put in another good performance after a solid win against Plympton last week to make it two wins in a row, which we have struggled to do for quite some time. It was a pretty even contest in the first half but our boys were able to step up another gear and run over the top of WS in the second half, in the last quarter we piled on 7-8(?) goals.

It was such a positive seeing the boys coming out after half time where the game was pretty much in the balance and stepping up that next gear instead of shutting off and/or going into their shells and going through the motions. That has been a NH habit for a while and I think now we've learnt to overcome it.

In the B grade it was a super win for us by a point amongst some moments of complete madness and confusion. B grade umpires, there's trouble with them all the time and I think all you can do is shake your head. As for the win though, Buckets was able to kick the goal after the siren and snatch victory for us making 5 in a row, whos knows when that last happened.

A few guys aren't fans of him still playing but even though he's nearly 40 he's still got it and I don't think the other 20 of us wanted the ball in anyone elses hands for that kick and he didn't let us down, so good on him.

We head on to next week now where we play Salisbury West away in another big game for both grades.

As a club we're still rebuilding, starting to head in the right direction, I think we're starting to again find that balance across all 3 grades and I believe we are getting better each week. There's been so much hard work put into our performances on and off the field and it's starting to show. IMO the best thing is we're finding the ability to win games of football again. There's a great feeling around the place at the minute and I really hope we continue that as the season continues.

Yeah he did and I thought he contributed well. I think everybody still cringes when he goes to ground, thinking please Jake get up and luckily he got through fine. Everybody always walks a little taller when he's out there.

Rosies too good for the Lodge yesterday, really stepped it up about half way through the second quarter after been 4 and a half goals down, and only some late goals saved some face. Will be a major player come finals, a very well balanced side, No 11??? (forward) was very good.

Interesting finish, with a scuffle after one of our lads got a nasty one to the head, and even though our bloke still had to have a shot on goal, Rosies interchange made their way on the ground to assist in the melee. Head count was asked for, not given by the umpires. Let me say that would have been un just on the Rosie lads as they played good footy all day and deserved their win, but there is no room in footy for guys to come onto the ground. Poor form.

In the B's, it was our worst loss in quite a while, against a side who should a lot of ticker and came home with a wet sale. We could have iced the game in the 3rd but for some shocking goal kicking, and Rosies stuck in there and got a run on in the last. Well done to the big fella on 300 games, fair effort!!!

I was shocked myself, although last week i saw a very exciting young team ( Salis West ) show some real character in winning away from home, they obviously followed up on that this week, the confidence is growing within these youngsters which is good to see.
