Poor effort by Angaston in the juniors this morning. Angaston u17's only had 15 players so we offered them some players to help them out, they refused the players and then consulted the umpires who then made a decision to play 15 a side. Really poor form by Angaston and definately not in the interest of junior football.

Kapunda vs. Nuri - Bombers to win easy. Taylor BOG.

Another great round in BLGFA today

Freeling v Barossa - Barossa by 6 goals-no Greenwood, S Eichner and heater to kick a bag
Centrals v Tanunda - Centrals to cause upset and win by 2 goals Howard v Wells worth admission cost alone
Kapunda v Nuri - Kapunda the real deal and too strong for Nuri Tigers
South v Ango - Close game but South must win to keep season alive and will win by 4 goals

BLGFA Directors should step in and fine Angaston for not taking up the offer from South.
Would have given 6 more players a game of footy and Ango's decision surely not in the best interest of the game

Fair change of scenery in a week, the picturesque south gawler oval to the SCG :D

issue of home town goal umpire decision's been around for a long time and only way to fix this issue is to have independent goal umpires panel.
should be discussed at delegates meeting as can cost clubs on the recieivng end of these blatant acts of poor eyesight

If we know one thing in Ango it's grapes, and I detect some sour ones from the South Gawler follower.
Would use the term as a plural but not certain there is more than one.
Ango far too good in the A's, and heavily under-strengthed due to injuries,
A very nice day for the Panthers...

Yes far too good in the A's.
Was a fair few people unhappy with colts though, surely the aim is to give everyone a go, south have given players to other sides this season to help out and no one else had a problem, just found it strange you didnt want this

Doesn't South have 45 players on their list for U17's?? Maybe it's time they reduced it and released some of their players permanently to other clubs. That would help resolve two things.
1. South's domination of the BL&G at U17 level and an uneven competition.
2. Will strengthen the clubs struggling to field a team.

Fair round of upsets... Firstly Centrals get the chocolates at the dog track. Freeling upset the Bullpups, and Nuri go home with big smiles after a convincing win over the Bombers. Possible a few sides were thinking about tonights festivities instead of the task that was at hand this arvo???

Not sure why the huge numbers in 17's at South, but i am surprised some kids dont move on to get a game each week. I know today there was about a dozen rested. Must be just an age thing as I know our 15's are short this year. Have noticed alot of the 15's are short each week and have to top up with 13's. Definately not good to see sides short in junior grades, i think Kapunda played with 4 under 15's in their 17's and we still loaned them 5, that cant be good for future.
We have had good colts for years but then I dont know what happens to them because our A's are still rubbish year after year, I thought a few of them might of made a differance by now

Poor old Jimmmmyo5 can hit the showers.
Maybe he can find the U15 forum somewhere.
Just like Barossa, Kapunda, Freeling. Angaston is surrounded by a population of 2,000 people and no high schools and colleges, not 20,000/3 teams.
The fine panther machine was well oiled with 20/21 locals.

Angaston - South set for the spoon.
Freeling - Big Mal and the boys on song
Central - To good for the pies. Wells rating quickly deminishing without the players around him.
Nuri - Upset Sammy's festival.
Freeling for 2011 Premiership

Osama if you read my post correctly I stated that the A's were far too good and im definately not defending our A grade. They have been poor for too many years and definately hats off to the country sides who put quality teams out on the park each week. South definately could learn from a few barossa clubs, we have been making the same mistake for years.

Can definitely sympathise that some kids aren't getting a game,
Would be very hard on the kid and even his parents.
But what is the situation if 1 team has only 15 players, I assume it is still a game for points
in which case teams should be playing to win not worrying about who does and doesn't get a game.
IF South could've played their 21 against the 15 they should have (again not sure of rules here),
At U-17 level the 'kids' should be being groomed to play seniors the next year and therefore
should be playing the game in an 'adult' style.
A bit of the sentiment leaves the game beween 15's and 17's and thats the way it needs to be.
Life is unfair Jimmy, we just have to roll with it.

Nah rules state that sides can only play equal numbers. Maybe the way our A grade play a few of them could go up and play, they couldnt do any worse could they.

Footballers faults and indiscretions are always put out there for everyone to hear and read about, as well as fines and tribunal appearances. Why protect a Goal Umpire that made a clear and obvious mistake.

It was also simply to prove a point about Goal Umpires, and that this season in the BLG, from what i have been reading on this forum, in the papers, and viewing with my own eyes, that there are many decisions that are leaving many people bewildered already in the first 4 weeks of the season.

You tell me to watch my mouth, I TELL YOU TO OPEN YOUR EYES!

The reason I told you to watch your mouth was due to the ??? marks you placed behind your rant, what where they supposed indicate? If you had not placed these in your rant I would not have replied. The umpire in question is very good at his job and has been doing it for this league for a long time and despite what The Bomber says his mistakes are few and far between. That is why I told you to watch your mouth, he is a great bloke who is very fair and would NEVER cheat. You tell to open my eyes but I'm pretty sure if you go back through the blog you will notice that I agree he made a MISTAKE.

Despite what some may say it would not have influenced the outcome, Tanunda where just starting to work the Bombers over, and if we say this then we have to look at all bad decisions through a game that cost goals, remember the umpiring all day was fair and reasonable.

So this week Skip Dimes, Bomber etc.. we will see you all out there volunteering your time to do some goal umpiring for your clubs, maybe some boundry or centre umpiring and I'm sure you will not make any mistakes.

Swooper, time to leave the "Tanunda always do everything by the rules" hat at home. I saw the game, it was a bad decision. I spoke to players from both teams after the game. Both sides agreed it was a bad call. I then had a player and a supporter from Tanunda admit it is not the first time that the Tanunda goal umpire has given a decision for the better of the club.... Not good when your own players and supporters acknowledge this (not that Tanunda needed the help in recent years).... But.... In your defense, everyone admitted that no-one is as bad as the guy from Nuri... Apparently Allan Norton can attribute at least 30 career goals to his goal umpiring alone.
It's not about mistakes, it's just being honest and fair.

Time to lighten up lads, I think you are taking this far too seriously swooper but lets face it all umpires make bad calls and we criticise them but are unwilling to have a crack ourselves.

Good to see the rumours are not true Osama, I was worried there for a while but that body double has worked a treat. How silly of those Yanks to think you where stashed in Pakistan anyway, when you can safely park the diesel Mercedes with all your wives (Cousins), 36 dogs, 15 cats, 30 Goats and a few cows up at Ango.

Some very interesting results this season, it is going to be very hard to pick the top teams just yet.

i think Freeling played with 4 under 15's in their 17's and we still loaned them 5, that cant be good for future.

Wow what a weekend of footy. I can honestly say i didn't pick a wnner on the weekend. It's a breath of fresh air in the BLG this year because there isn't a stand out team at this stage. Not being a Tanunda supporter it's good for the comp they got beaten on the weekend, im not for one minute saying they can't win the flag again but they have certainly come back the pack more than i thought they would. It's fair to say south are fav's to take the wooden spoon home this year after a very dismal peformance on the weekend. I went to watch the Freeling and Barossa game on the weekend and i must say maybe freeling are the sleeping giants they have aready beaten willaston and beat barossa with ease on the weekend. Not sure what everyone else thinks but my early prediction for the top 4 are Tanunda, Willaston,Gawler Centrals and Freeling. Kapunda willbe around the mark but should have beaten nuri on the weekend.
