Will must critic his own performances. Thats the only way I can see how he gets an A-grade game every week. Jenner is a quality umpire but does occassionally get small man syndrome.

Anyway SD, I think you boys might want to get in front of goals a bit this week on the track. 1-8 at quarter time and finish with 11-18, could have been costly if playing one of the top teams.

Bit harsh again there under the pack half those points were rushed by my memory.

Also Pretty sure you don't really believe that jenner is a quality umpire. He is not bad but QUAILITY is certainly not the word i'd use.
Bring back that bloke that umpired two years ago always with his hair done nice and often tinted he was always good.

I wrote that. I meant it aswell. I regard him as the best umpire in the APFL just my opinion anyway. At least he gives an honest answer and is one of the few approcable umpires that dont tell you to get knicked if you ask about the decision

I think your a bit harsh on him anyway, yes he trained with us on a thursday night a few weeks back cos he lives closest to us. I heard the mallala supporters abuse him and one said that he was as bad for both teams... I feel sorry for him because everytime we have him he umpires with not just the worst umpire in our league but the worst i've ever seen. I hate being so harsh on a young guy but i think he should look into something else, obviously started umpiring because he can't play the game but he can't umpire, maybe trainer? Runner? Score board attendant? There are other options to stay involved.

Back on poor will he was crucified for two 50's he gave away on saturday, but both were defiantly there ;-)

 There was an email to clubs from something said on this forum? Perhaps we should all just log in as Official Club Representitive for "insert club here". Strangely enough i would have thought the League would be more concerned about reps opinions at the Assoc meets, not what a couple tech savvy supporters on here say to stir shite and pass the day away.

Yeah, he shouldn't be able to umpire teams he has previously played for either! ;)

So hes only umpiring Balak, Mallala, Virginia and Two Wells. Sounds like its sorted, ill call Doug and let him know :D

Yeah, can we have Hodgetts every week cos he's the best and he loves us so much

I'm not sure on who is best, but BJ was pretty good on Saturday I felt. Although he did give a free kick against me when Burgo was having a shot at goal for shepherding the mark. Still not sure I was in the wrong, but thats the decision. He was very approchable at 1/4 time and certainly didn't tell me to get stuffed. Always gotta rate an umpire who is approachable regardless of the decisions they have made earlier.

Perhaps this is one area where Will struggles, as he always wants to argue back and start abusing the players. I remember playing at Hamley last year, and after players from both sides where talking about the ball being too tight I approached him at 1/4 time and told him that all the blokes at my end think that the ball is too tight. He told me to get ****** cause I'm useless and that I should try and get a kick (he was right too). Sure enough at the start of the next 1/4 the ball had been deflated a little. The point is he could've just said "no worries, I will have a look at it and check with the other umpire if it needs changing".
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

I think your right, game should've been over at qtr time really. Hamleys pressure was great, but there was no wind to speak of. 29 scoring shot to 9 was probably not reflective of how close the game probably was.

Describe how a game where a team that virtually triples the opposition's scoring shots, can be "close"
