played Div 1 and Reserves football for Port as an 18 year old. Ports would love to have him out there but to my knowledge just isnt interested. im sure any div 1 club would love to have him

If he is not interested in Ports or Div 1, Whats to say he is interested at Div 5. I have seen the bloke play and like everyone else who has seen his best, he is very imposing and hard to stop when he is on. But, he is one bloke and I have never seen one bloke beat a team of 21 or 22 in finals.
North Haven would not have won if he was playing on Saturday, unless he can take the ruck and then mark his own kick in the forward 50.
They are straight to their word, they don't talk a lot of smoke and mirrors behind windows.

good game. west croyden came out of the blocks, haven stayed around the mark, never out of it, never in it sort of game. Not that its an excuse but id say you add - off the top of head:
Jake Watts, Brock Day, Ty Duerdin, Blake Davis, Matthew Eagles and a possible Div1 X factor. I'd say they'd cover those 20 points. Croyden had a couple out outs i Bryant and stubberfield, but if Stubberfield was the baldie running boundary in the B's, he'd wanna be a very mark as he looks to carrying a good 10 kg

I think your assessment has been made through black and white eyes there beached. As an impartial on looker, I do know a few blokes that play for North haven but do not care if they win or lose, I would say North Haven threw everything at West Croydon.
West Croydon through a fantastic team game were able to absorb any North Haven advance and keep them at bay. There may be a few to comeback for Haven's but I would not expect the result to change even with a number of ins. West Croydon are by far the best team in the comp and they would have to have a very dirty day for someone to get the better of them.

Two words...Matty Eagles... You cannot rule out anything with this boy sitting on the side-lines. I reckon the centre clearance count on Saturday would have been 20 to WC & 6 to Haven (full credit to WC's ruckmen & onballers). However, with Eagles back in the side, I can confidently say that the clearance numbers would be reversed - and you try and tell me that an additional 14 inside 50's to Haven & 14 less to WC wouldn't have an impact on the result. I'm a firm believer that you are only as strong as your 'B' grade, but I really hope he is fit to play when WC come to play us at home.

Don't know who you are mate but I agree Eagles is a brilliant player and an even better bloke but West Croydon are a class above North Haven and they can only beat the team that is put in front of them.

Both sides at full strength WC are player for player better and play a better style of footy
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

I don't know Matty from a bar of soap but have seen him play footy, TDK knows alot more and if i remember correctly he said he just wanted to enjoy footy with his mates at NH and had no interest in playing at that level...

But def agree with piccachu, any div 1 club would love him!

There is no doubt in my mind that Eagels would of made some sort of differance to the A grade so far this season, win or loss. You look at the margins the A grade has lost by, 4 goals, 7 points, 56 points and 23 points on the weekend and IMO Eagels would of made a differance to those results. He hasn't been in the team though because he's been injured and our coaching staff have been trying to fill the huge hole left by him and they are doing an ok job at the moment. We don't have him and we have to learn to deal with it, noone can afford to go around saying, "What if we had Eagels that day?"

I watched him during the Plympton game and before he got injured he was on fire. He stood head and shoulders above Plymptons young ruckmen and took him to the cleaners both in the ruck and around the ground. We're so lucky to have him at our club and it's so great he loves the place like the rest of us. I just hope he recovers from injury and decides to stay at NH because everyone loves him having him there.

Was clicking through some old results tonight...

Question for the WC lads, whatever happened to Tregeagle? Was a little goal-magnet from what I remember.

Not 100% sure but i don't think he's interested in playing footy, he's been out to a training here & there over the last season & a half but not played. Would be good to have him playing.

Saw WC in grandfinal last year and they were as side with no stars, just all on the same page and from 2010 results are used to being in control of games. Against Haven that confidence and willingness to follow thier own plan and work to each contest was what allowed them to control many facets of the game. It was good to see Haven not get belted as some sides have been by the hawks and also good to see them respond and level things after the hawks kicked away early. Haven just can't afford to drop off at any part of any game this year. Good win by the Hawks unfortunately!

its about time that matty mcpherson got some serious credit for where the hawks are
he has taken a club that was all ways mid table in div 6 and well known for bad discipline
under him they have got the right structures, procedures and discipline
because they now concentrate on the ball and whats happening on the ground they are not only a very good team but are now attracting players who once would never look at them
well done matty, you have done a great job and it just goes to show to clubs that if you look for the right coach they are out their
mighten have the reputations and histories of the so called great coaches in the saafl but bring with them all the things needed for a club to prosper and at half the cost

And dont forget they lost a couple of quality players in Pederson and Vessali to us this year also, but have still managed to improve on last year. I wouldnt think many sides could lose a ruckman of Vessali's calibre, go up a grade and still dominate. Pederson is a great player also, has been excellent for us this year - im sure he would have left a hole in WC's midfield.

Haven't played West Croydon in over a decade but have heard a few bad stories over the years but they have turned that around in a big way under Matty, their players play a great style of footy attacking from deep in their backline and running hard. Their players were very disciplined and there was no sign whatsoever of the troubles they have had in the past. I was impressed, there was talk on here of new clubrooms or an upgrade which is long overdue and should bring them in line with other clubs in the area.

Another TOP POST Dee Man - Definately Matty Mac & The Hawks should be congratulated. No excuses down there even when they lost Top Players to higher grades, Key Forwards to injury and even a couple to suspension. They just get on with the job. Well deserved Hawks!

I wish them well and would not be suprised to see them jump up a grade...Still a ways to go, of course, but good luck to them.

What would be your advice for any club struggling in D5?
