Not going to happen.
Willaston need all the local players they can get to win a flag.
Why would they throw that away now?

Not sure all the fifties he gives away, and the goals kicked from those are gonna help them "win" the flag... Could just cost them more than he is worth.

At what point does a player become cancerous to a team?

Les Baker was given his marching orders yesterday by the coach.
A meeting before that with Shaun cleared the way for it to happen, even his brother agreed there was no place for him.
Things will run smooth for awhile down there now, but what happens now if say one of the Mcleans has discipline issues or anyone else for that matter, im tipping Shaun would want the same action taken.
Bumpy road ahead i feel, no premiership this year and they are kidding themselves if they think Les was the sole reason they were smashed by 10 goals as i have been told by one committee member there.

I also thought the reason Jamie Scott went to Willaston was his mateship with Les so i wonder if he will now stick around?

If this is the case then the Willaston coach should be applauded for making the call.

From my advantage point on the weekend les has no one other than himself to blame. When individuals put themselves infront of a football club there is never any room for them to stay. There is no doubt sacking a player from any club is going to have it's ugly points however when is enough enough. Tanunda are a long way infront again this year im not sure one player getting sacked from willaston is going to improve them 10 goals, They would need to improve in many aspects to become a real threat at beating tanunda this year.

Good on Willaston for their action on that thug, I cannot recall seeing a more shocking performance by a single player. What everyone is saying is spot on, Willaston will be a far better team without him and his brother will also be better. Once he was red carded all the fighting suddenly stopped but the damage was done. I have to say though don't rule out Willaston now, they have some great tall timber and on their day can beat all teams including Tanunda. Will be very interesting to see how they go now, I'm betting a lot better.

Can't see why everyone is getting into Wells, he is playing pretty well, may not win all ruck contests but his work around the ground is where he kills his oponents. Still seems to get into the best players most weeks but do agree Bignell should have got the Kleinig medal. He has been a little sore since getting a knock while representing the country SA side.

Sounds like an interesting day at Blockville park. Spoke to a blocky mate who said it was a fairly amazing individual performance by Les but did say at least there was no real damage done to anyone except to his teams performance.

Good news Stewie, a few days for me really does mean a good month ago. Should be some reasonable sporting pedigree there.

Osma strange no input from Willaston supporters on Baker's dismissal but I must congratulate coach Irving on having the guts to do something the past 2 coaches should have done.
Would expect Shaun to walk now as well even though he would know the right decision has been made to cut Les loose.
What other clubs would want Les to be serious but with Shaun as well it may tempt someone.

I think Wacka would be stupid to not look at recruiting Les, he may just be the piece we have been missing for the last 10 years since our last flag with hardnuts Hermann and Lampard. We have been lacking an agitator for far too long.
It cant hurt to give him a chance, we need to do something to get past a prelim final. Im sure he would now be keen to knock Willaston out of contention.

Lucky we didnt clear Daniel Mills to Willaston earlier in the season, we may now be able to do a swap with them so a clearance shouldnt be an issue, not that i think it would be anyway.

Yeah that would be a good move, then the two clubs that could have put it up to the Blockies could be stuffed up by the same individual. Lampard a hard nut? he was just a dirty mongrel who belted kids behind play, Hermann sure he was one hard monster but not Lampard.

Just out of interest what has happened to Lampard. Last I heard he had a small holiday courtesy of the justice department and played some footy at Hamley Bridge.

Somehow Weare I don't think you will take Les on and after what I saw on the weekend you don't want him, he's not a hard nut like Hermann, he just loves a fight and hates umpires.

Question to anyone who knows, has there been any other player movements at the Donneybrooks after the Les Fallout?

Comprahensive wrap up of events on the back page of the Herald today.
Quite an intersting photo in one of the papers today of Les on the ground and being shown the red card.
Some players are hard units on the field and something just happens inside their head when they step over the line, but often they are the most pleasant and nicest people on the other side of the white line.

Angaston vs Kapunda , Will be a good game, both team need this one to stay in the running, Kap by 2 goals

Freeling vs Gawler Central , GC will run alll over Free, GC by 10 goals +

South Gawler vs Tanunda , A training run for Tan. Tan by 15 goals

Willaston vs Nuriootpa, Willaston will get good % from this game and will cement their finals run, Willaston by 10 goals +.

The top 3 teams are set. Bar, Ango, Kap & Nuri all looking to get that 4th spot.
Something to think about
