Hondo wrote:I picked a rom-com movie that I thought would appeal to Mrs Hondo and it was terrible ... "The Good Guy"

Problems:

- bad acting
- bad casting (the actor for the "good guy" was this buff, tall, dark and handsome type but we were meant to believe had problems picking up women and was into book clubs. Conversely the actor the sleazy womaniser looked more like the pickup misfit)
- completely obvious ending

The one point of interest was 80s brat packer Andrew McCarthy in a supporting role.

Try "Love And Other Drugs" .. Watched it on the weekend and thought it was pretty entertaining (plus Anne Hathaway has great norks)

The Tunnel

Very low budget Australian horror flick.
Looks a lot like a "4 Corners" story.

Available as a legit torrent, but not worth the effort.

Normally, I wouldn't give this a second look on the shelf at Civic.

But the filmmakers have created a bit of buzz with "crowd-funding" and making it a free torrent.

Trailer looked awful but I downloaded it anyway...

My mate worked on this abomination.

And apparently the stuff they shot of Wazza getting eaten by the shark was so bad they just cut it.

Got some unintentionally hilarious moments. Like when the shark comes after them for maybe the first time and Damien Walshe-Howling's character shouts:

"Lets get the @%&# outta here!"

They're in the middle of the ocean.

Then there's that beach scene with Gyton Grantley and Adrienne Pickering. And he says something to her like:

"Yep! Yep!"

The written word doesn't do it justice coz the audience completely lost it at this point...

=))

Red Rose

Stephen King movie. Its so long it stretches over two DVDs. I only watched half. My Gf watched the whole thing and said the second half didnt get any better.

The thing that shits me is that all Stephen King novels start off good, then turn to crap when the Indian Burial ground is revieled. Like Desperation...was an awesome story, until the supernatural stuff started happening...lost interest very quickly after that...

Some funny stuff in there.

The notorious The Day the Crown Cried is, by all accounts, a legendary turkey, too.

Jerry Lewis' Hollywood career pretty much died with that film.

Around the same time his footy days came to an end, Gary Sweet made his film debut in this stinker, also featuring John Michael Howson...
