The game goes for 4 quarters MH, no point out scoring sides in the last three quarters if you give them such a big start

 Was this a poor attempt of being a smart ass? Yeh I guess next time were 40 odd down at quarter time we will bring your second point up and let the opposition kick 7 goals in each of the next 3 quarters coz theres no point in trying hey wise guy.

What going on Norm?

His name will still be in the paper Duke, so you can still cut it out and stick it in your scrapbook

=))

No scrapbooking for The Duke this weekend.
"Not Supplied" was the only player listed in Hamley's best players and goal kickers from the Sunday Mail. :supz:

Balaklava 19.14 (128) d Hamley Bridge 7.4 (46) by 82 points.
Virginia 10.20 (80) d United 2.6 (18) by 62 points.
Mallala 12.8 (80) d Two Wells 7.10 (52) by 28 points.

Most tipsters had productive rounds with a fairly predictable five points fairly easy to come by. Only one tipster nailed the perfect 6 points, Swamp Donkey correctly tipping his team by less than 40 points to move up to equal third on the leaderboard. Dr Pink also was back in form after copping a round low 1 point last week. With United's form, Mythical Creature seams to be struggling, while maidenmagpie has been unsighted for two weeks, as had norm11's tips, who probably should aim to get back on board, considering I paid his entry into the cash comp. Lol.

Pretty sure UTP wasn't saying to roll over if you are 7 down at 1/4 time,
was probably making the point that pumping your self up for not rolling over is probably a smidge weak.
You get the same amount of points whether you had've rolled over or not,
so unless your team only looks at the percentage column then the result probably doesn't bring a lot of joy.
Were the players getting around eachother congratulating one another on the loss, I doubt it.
UTP clearly has a far superior football mind to yourself Houndy, coz it only matters who's in front at the 'final' siren.
Is like Barry Burgess's goalkicking, doesn't matter how many quarters his goals are spread over,
if he kicks 5 of 7 its a great effort, not that Hamley would recognise it, maybe he has to kick 1.25 goals per quarter to be
deemed to have put in a complete performance.

Everything in context Stewie. If you've ever played footy for a club which has struggled with depth and injuries, you can pride yourselves on putting up a good fight, despite losing the match. I think Two Wells can hold their heads high with the weekend's result, regardless of losing the match. Burgess always celebrates his goals, despite the result of the match. The way I see it, if you don't celebrate your small "victories", the game would be less enjoyable.

No need to get so defensive MH mate, UTP wasnt having a crack i dont think he was just saying you need to have a 4 quarter effort... we could say if we took the 3rd quarter out of our game then it would have been a much tighter contest.. but unfortunately football is a 4 quarter game... this is what generally seperates the top teams from the lower ranked ones, the ability to put together a 4 quarter effort. but like all the lower teams we are doing everything we can the rectify this.

Onsong well played saturday mate, i thought you were clearly best afield and played really well. so well done. i also agree with you about the smaller clubs needing to celebrate all the little victories, but i will disagree with the fact i celebrate all my goals no matter the score is.. as i only celebrate if i feel we are close enough to win the game. so on sat all goals i kicked i felt that we could still win when i kicked them.. if you dont have belief that you can come back from all situations no point playing in my eyes..

i only have 2 things out of saturday which disapointed me a little, one was the balak coach, i love the way the big fella gets pumped up during games and gets passionate, but generally he doesnt over step the mark, which he did on sat.. he called our football club a F@#$ing joke and an embarressment to the league... how is a side that is struggling an embarressment??? every club will go through it and depending on money flow and size of town will determine how long the club will be there.. Off course we want to be better and we are doing everything we can to get there and i think we are getting there, and have no doubt we will get there, but this doesn't make us a joke... The Hamley Bridge Football club fills teams in all grades every week and the same with the netball club, we have some of the hardest working football people ive seen at a football club and they dont deserve someone verbally disrespecting our club, specially a coach of an oposition, whats different from this by there coach and what happened a week ago between the two coaches at two wells???

Second thing is that there was a certain association coach getting on the gas at balak on sat and im pretty sure he was yelling some abuse at one particular hamley player, now there was a large group he was sitting with so i hope it might not have been him but if it was it is a terrible look for that to be happening from a bloke who should be just watching all games and looking for guys who warrant a game next year, maybe!!

other than that Balak like always was a good place to go to play football...

Cheers for the wrap scud. Haha.

Stewie was playing CHF or FF all day, I reckon the bloke you're referring to was Bunsen, his younger brother. Both of them have cleanly shaven heads and are often confused.

Either that has happened or you ventured deep into the Hamley defence to hear Stewie say that. Lol.

EDIT: Stewie or Stuey? Not sure how to spell the nickname, I just call him Disco ;)

Who is Christemann? Heard there was a bit of a dust up there on Saturday, was it after this? Hamley seem to be getting mixed up in a bit of boxing each week of late.

Aaron Christmann, quality midfielder and was doing a bit of the run and carry from defence as well.
Cmrlec was trying to shepherd and was caught by Christmann's elbow/forearm. Couldn't tell from where I was. Didn't look like much of a blow but Cmrlec was a little dazed and the ump basically grabbed Christmann and said "you're off and reported".

A little brawl erupted in the last. Catford on the bottom of a pack, who knows what went on down there? Lol.

By the way scud, I can confirm it was Brenton Lamond, not Stuey who made those comments during the game on Saturday.
