When a team recruits to cover losses - like Agars, etc. - is it fair when they return? Doesn't this make a mockery of the points system? Other teams have planned for the season, and all of a sudden the playing field isn't level anyore, especially if planning is hampered by injuries to new players. Is it fair Tanunda and Willaston get "get out of jail" cards?
Agars is worth no points as he is a local Tanunda lad, so that argument does not hold up. Tanunda basically have no points this season to play with anyway, the league have tried to even things up here, Bevan was the only recruited player for this season. Have a look at Tanunda's best players each week, Schiller x 2, Wells, Bignell, now probably Agars plus his brother, all local lads who have grown up here. Yeah Newberry, Underwoods (moved here anyway), Britton, Kaesler, Prior all recruited in a few years ago and now living here now and are considered locals. I can tell you that you will get no apology from me that we have a club enviroment which has helped us hold onto these guys. We also have a great deal of local young talent getting around this season (Hamra).
