Well done to Salisbury West in both grades yesterday they are the real deal and will be hard to stop come September.

Firstly in the B grade, we played a whole lot better than we did against Woody South last week and gave it a red hot crack in the last half to only lose by 19 points. Given the start they had we were lucky not to get blown off the park and showed some heart and go down respectfully at least.

Westies have a very young, quick team that will take some stopping. A couple of things I did notice though is that I do think if you get into them and soften them up a bit it will put off them game quiet a bit. That was one thing we tried and it worked quite effectively I thought. Also, more than half their team does double and play under 18s on a Sunday and I think this late in the season and going into finals they will die off in the second half, as they started to do on Saturday.

As for the A grade, our boys were totally outplayed by a fitter, stronger, more skillful and more disipline football side. They're a very good alround and balanced side with very good players accross the ground and our boys were quiet poor I thought but take nothing away from Westies they are the real deal and certainly deserve to be sitting at the top of the table. They didn't give our boys much freedom and chances to hurt them on the scoreboard and at the same time attacked well and had our defence constantly under pressure.

Onto Rosewater at Rosewater for us and it's a big game in both games. We need a big win in the B grade to get back on track after a bad month and for the A grade it will be a very satisfying win for us if we do get up because it will pretty much ensure a finals spot for us and a relergation spot for Rossies, which everyone at NH would love to see. :)

so you thinkng spitting is OK?
thats pretty average if he has done that
If he did that why didnt he get reported then.Talking about losers darren asinari what a credit to his club walking around mouthing off to people .dont know who you were trying to scare but it didnt work.
I find it interesting that you didn't say anything on Saturday but you want to come on here and have a cheap shot.
Maybe you were scared.
Unlike some people out there. We were looking to still play football. Despite getting a football lesson from west croydon we were looking to keep going to the final siren. It's a pity 1 bloke can think he is the centre of the universe and ruin it for everybody else. After the bloke removed himself from the ground the game was resumed and no more incidene followed. West croydon are a good enough side with out having this bozo ruin it for them.

I agree it is poor form with the spitting and as for the elbow i was told he got in 1st before he copped it

Then i would suggest that someone has told you a bit of a white lie, if you were a parent watching this happen you would think twice about letting your children play football and make me as a football wonder if its worth while playing while knobs like this think its ok to simply elbow someone in the face while running past them while well off of the ball.

I heard about the girlfriend who was out there swinging a few but was a little preoccupied trying to stop one of our players from perhaps doing something stupid.

Exactly right AF. He's the best umpire we've had all year by far and a great bloke too.

Agreed, he was good. As was the taller umpire in the A Grade, have had him a few times and he has been good everytime. The shorter umpire was appalling but had little impact on the game as Salisbury West dominated us all over the ground as a 8 goal lead at quarter time would indicate.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

Nobody knows what he has done. Reported by West Croydons boundary umpire for striking. I think he just randomly picked a number out and told the umpires he was reporting him. Funny thing is the boundary ump was there to watch our captain get elbowed in the face but never mentioned that too the umpires

Reminds me of a boundary umpire from CBCOC back in 2000. he was much the same as that, i was the other boundary umpire for our club when my dad was playing, so he didnt have to look out for me all the time when i was a kid. this boundary ump would always be in the back pocket of the central umps when anything happened, one time he caused a far seen with our supporters ripping in to him on another ocassion. they are not an official, and only have a one sided view of any incident.

That's the best thing about playing higher, umpires are not supplied by the clubs!

I play in the Barossa, light and gawler league, and having boundary umps that have no association with your club is excellent, but just couldnt happen in the SAAFL lower div's, not enough which is ashame. Should get the kids to do it, give them an incentive to do it, gives some responsibility and excersise. then that is hard to do also, as no one volunteers. is a hard job to fill come saturdays
