Blind Freddy could of coached Tanunda to the last three flags and this years just have the right cattle to get the job done just like Nuri did when they won four in a row. But i guess you still have to pick the team

Hope the Grandstand at the Dog Track is fixed by then. It was condemned as UNSAFE by the council on Monday and all fenced off. Cant be used until its fixed/rebuilt!!

It wont be...Council has no money. They cant even get around to fixing the roof of one of the clubs buildings.

Lucky they are doubling the cost to hire the oval...

Doubling the cost BL**DY HELL!

With the Grandstand being part of the Greyhound facilities would the council be paying the full amount to fix it or would it be half/half with the greyhounds or??

Council have changed the way they charge the 3 Gawler clubs (and those who use Karbeethan) for use of council ovals. They have gone to a 'User Pays' system where you either pay a percentage of the total upkeep of the oval for the year or a per hour fee. Caused a fair bit of a fuss over the last 18 months with clubs protesting. Obviously the council rates we pay each year dont go towards providing services for the community!

Greyhounds are looking to redevelop the facilities there in the next few years so I doubt they will be spending any money on it...

Angaston, September 17th

Lets hope the ground will not be under water like last years 2nd semi final game, Tanunda v Barossa and there was only 1 goal kicked for the game.

At least we don't have to worry about anyone training on it.

If they do have a final at the dog track will they have to police the area so no one uses it?
Could be a big insurance risk if someone hurts themselves trying to sit in it.

I can tell you that the 2nd Semi Final...ie. 1st vs 2nd, will be played at Kapunda.

Anyone have any idea what oval the first final will be held at,
or does it depend on who makes up the 4th spot.

I'm pretty sure the finals are on a rotating basis, so it doesn't matter if the side is playing on their own trurf. eg. Nuriootpa ?? in the finals

Rubbish ground to play the best two sides on, Nuri would have been better.

I think a lot of people would find Angaston a rubbish ground to play a Grand Final at too, but thats the way the process goes... Rotating basis. So be prepared for quite a few rubbish grounds to be holding any finals. I'm sure we are all looking forward to playing Semi finals at Williamstown in the mud, or another Grand Final on the basically concrete square at Tanunda!

Agreed Nuri is one of the best grounds around when its a dry day, but you cant play every game in the finals at Nuri.

Any ground in the League can be horrible to play on if you think about it, just need the weather to play its part.

Top two grounds for a final would be Nuri and Willaston with Ango not far behind but really its only fair to rotate it around the clubs.

The only that couldnt host the GF would be South due to parking space and horrible changerooms and Williamstown due to parking...

Angaston in the top three!
Obviously missed last year’s final at the same oval.

If the weather is fine then Angaston is by far the best oval to hold the GF. Plenty of parking, great view of the oval for the crowd with viewing steps the whole way around, smallish oval which gives of great atmosphere. But do agree that if the clouds open up then certainly not a great place to be playing at for a GF.

BL&G Finals 2011

1st Semi Final - Nuriootpa Oval
2nd Semi Final - Kapunda Oval
Preliminary Final - Gawler Central Oval
Grand Final - Angaston Oval

Interesting to note that Gawler Centrals may effectively be hosting a home preliminary final for their A Grade team, if they lose to Tanunda as would be highly possible. A great advantage for them, hopefully the oval itself is in good condition by then, and has recovered from the Gawler Show!!!

You would think with the main man from the council being a true blue Panther
he would have got all those issues with the oval sorted a long time ago.
The top 4 instead of the top 5.
Is it easier to play the one game every weekend or should it go back to the
top 5 playing Saturday & Sunday games.
