It is an unfair advantage in a way that South Gawler & Barossa will never get the chance to have a home final against another team. If the league won’t let them play finals at home these two clubs could be the only disadvantaged clubs. I don’t think too many clubs would want to play Barossa at Barossa in a final. Especially if it’s wet.

Angastons oval last year was caused by a 7 day torrential downpour, there isn't an oval around that would've stood up to it.
Was just unlucky. Have seen plenty of the other ovals in the last few weeks and Ango's is looking no worse or better than anyones.
Willaston generally has the best playing surface, but average facilities for players.
This rotation system will work out to be fair for all at the end of the day.

Very true, look over the three most successfull periods over the past 20 years and tell me the coaches of these side were the difference.

South early 90s 1990- 1993 3 premierships
Nuri Mid 90s to 2000 5 premierships
Tanunda 2008- current 4 premierships

Most experts still say the South side of the early 90s when the comp was at its strongest was the best seen in the BLGFA, though Taununda's side a few years ago was awsome too, has dropped a bit of late but so has the rest of the comp.

They may be the shortest odd favourites to win a flag this year, but dont wana say they have got 4 flags yet. Anything can happen on Grand Final Day, especially if it rains

So be prepared for quite a few rubbish grounds to be holding any finals. I'm sure we are all looking forward to playing Semi finals at Williamstown in the mud, or another Grand Final on the basically concrete square at Tanunda! Agreed Nuri is one of the best grounds around when its a dry day, but you cant play every game in the finals at Nuri.

Any ground in the League can be horrible to play on if you think about it, just need the weather to play its part.

SD there is no way that the finals are on a rotation basis, yes Tanunda has a crap centre square but we have hosted 2 finals in 12 years, 2001 & a GF in 2005. There are certainly some clubs which seem to get a lot more than others.

Rotation system has been brought in this year Swooper... Off ya high Horse

Unfortunately in years gone by the system has not been to the benefit of a lot of successful clubs, But with this new rotation, you can rest easy in knowing Tanunda will get a final atleast once each 3 years.

Granted the centre square is like concrete but as far as atmosphere goes I reckon Nundies has one of the best going around. Being a small oval with trees to lock the noise in, the atmosphere is one of the best going around...
Thats what you want in a close final, a bit of noise and how you doing!

Maybe I was on the money.
Freeling would only hope he takes no one with him.
Or is he staying on as a player only.

Obviously everyone has bias to their own club so without picking your own coach.
Who has done the best job with the list they have this year?

Surely you don't get that prize for just running a place. With what he's got to pick from, if they don't make the GF he's not the COTY

Totally agree and they are no certainty to even play finals.
Ango will be tanking today to ensure a rise to 12 points next season meaning a showdown at nuri next weekend with willaston for a spot in the finals

Would have be a toss up between Salter, Brown and Hadden to answer your question Brook, none of these however would be coach of the year

Fair enough SD, didn't know that, good fair way to do it. Big Mal stepping down a big surprise as the Freeling guys last week where telling us he is on for another year. Top bloke hope he sticks in this league and with Freeling.

Hopefully by blooding the youth like greenwood has, that freeling has a future after his tenure. If he decides to not play on next year either, will we see players walk away from the club if you dont get a half decent coach to replace him. Good luck to the redlegs for next year and in finding a good new coach.

If either of their teams get into the top four and somehow create havoc, I would suggest Nat Salter or Rod Brown COULD be named Coach of the Year.....

Big week in BL&G footy about to unfold.
Expect a few calls on the dog and bone this Saturday arvo with Willaston, Nuri and Kapunda all sitting on 7 wins and 47%.
Nuri v Willaston and Kapunda v Angaston.
Already messages being left on Coach Hadden's answering machine with offers from Browny, Salter and Irving.
Will Coach Hadden blood some youth, or will he try to upset some apple carts!

While on the topic of getting into the finals, I'd throw this up for consideration. Willaston must be a slight favourite, BUT they dropped well over 1.5% points after the shellacking from Tanunda, whilst Kapunda gained about the same in belting Freeling. The result is that there is only .4% between these two.
Assuming the key match between Nuri and Willaston (at Nuri) is close (because it will be a hard fought game and both want to get in), there may be no huge percentage gain for either, and that leaves Kapunda playing at home to a weakened Angaston.
THE EQUATION IS THIS: If Willaston win, Kapunda needs to beat Angaston by 23 points more than what Willaston wins by (4 goals to be safe). If Nuri win, they would have to beat Willaston by something in the region of eight goals more than Kapunda beats Angaston by.
Could the Bombers sneak in?

Looks like Kapunda are in the box seat.
Willaston are on the down slide and have been since the start of round 2.
Nuriootpa can win but it might be close.
Kapunda v Angaston. Angaston are definitely playing for points next year. Kapunda should win & win well.
Best year for a while, last game and 3 clubs all aiming for that forth spot.

Kapunda are in the box seat for sure.
Willaston need rapid improvements by senior personnel to even have a shot at beating Nuri this weekend. Individuals playing selfish footy for the donnys is hurting them, Tanunda showed awesome team work and what a champion team do to win games.
This is what makes footy great, when the result from 2 games can decide finals spots. Hopefully Angaston put up a fight against Kapunda and don't make it easy for them, and we see a shoot out down at Nuri in hopefully perfect conditions

Spot on from everyone, we are set up for a cracka finish and it looks as though little sneaky Kapunda may just get in, great effort from Browny & his troops. The only smokey is Nuri who specialise in B grade premierships and may still look at keeping players qualified and not worry about an A grade side that have no hope of beating the Blockies.
