I was at the game and I can say that the head-count took place before the ball was thrown up to start the final quarter. If you don’t like my words, don’t listen. If you don’t like my appearance, don’t look. If you don’t like my actions, turn your head; It’s as simple as that.

Yes Willaston did win the quarter anyhow but it happened at start of quarter and you could see the Barossa players drop their heads and its a credit to them that they fought out the match, if the boot was on the other foot i reckon Willaston might have gone the knuckle

I would have thought the process would be the same in all country football leagues. In our League if there is a count and a team has 19 on the field the umpire simply records that time of the incident and the League committee determines the penalty after the match. There is no immediate loss of score.

Was there today it was a mistake that was reconised at the center bounce.
The ball had not even been thrown up to comence the final Qtr and Roger was runing off as he knew to many on the feild.
Double blow for the big fellow this week after the annuoncement of the legal import of NZ apples.
Norm you would have been sacked by now regardless x committee or new a good bloke will only get you so far.

at the end of the day rules are rules and willaston had a right to ask for a head count. Roger James was sneaking off knowing his team had stuffed up by having 19 players on the ground. Wasnt the best way to win a elimination final, but if the shoe was on anyother foot in the BLG, they would have done exactly the same thing. Im sure if Gawler Centrals had the same thing happen next week and tanunda had 19 on the ground, they would point it out.

Scores were level (Barossa 9.5.59 Willaston 8.11.59) Willaston had the momentum going into the last stanza, so really anyone saying they win underservingly needs to get the head check out. Was an excellent game of footy, both sides put 100% into it. Shaun Childs gave Heath Commane nothing yesterday, was best on ground and With walton, campbell and baker in the middle all playing well also.

Maybe a Gawler Central v Willaston Prelim at the dog track is on the cards, where the donnies have won both encounters this year.

What a load of rubbish mate, every player was in their position when James tried to sneak off unoticed. To even say that is what happened is ridiculous. Roger stuffed up and had to pay the price. Willaston werent worried of losing either, they were on the verge of knocking the dogs off anyway, had all the momentum going into the last quarter. No matter what Willaston do, they will always be made to look the bad guy in any situation.

you should be worrying more about Divy 5 in 2012 rather than bag willaston and there supporters mate or the BLG comp. Any other side in that situation would have done the same thing, and dont say they wouldnt. If barossa had of done it, it would have been cheered and people would have said they deserve to win anyway. To talk about class champ, why not look at the class your club showed a few years back when you played smithfield at glandore oval, certainly no class with westminster mate.

I say that after this game the clubs will be picking up anything that happens on the ground. Sportsmanship will now stop in the BL&G as clubs will check everything.
If I see it I say it.

James needed an extra man on baker as the first 3 taggers he had couldn't stop him.

It was for sheep stations on Saturday afterall and if the shoe had been on the other foot these same willaston knockers would be calling them a rabble, cheats and unprofessional.

I thought the umpires handled the situation very well, it will be one that goes down in folk history as the donnybrooks ride continues.

Just a case of sour grapes.

Honestly Ruben how stupid, the corner stone of barossa 'the bay13' tent is a montage of morons. No point slagging willaston supporters, the fact is that the barossa bench is the laughing stock of the competition this week... suck it up princess.

Will be good to see what Barossa will do this week.

Think you'll find that any team (AFL/SANFL/every league) that has 19 players on the field at once risks a head count and loses its' score. That hasn't changed in the last 50 years of football...
That's not quite right. Leagues who are functioning in the 21st century have a rule where a free kick is paid and then the respective administration work out what score was scored with the extra man of the field and deduct accordingly. If the result isn't worked out till Monday then so be it.

This was done to protect umpires from being subject to riots and of course a little common sense.

Very harsh against the best side this comp has seen in years, any other side would of lost by 20 goals in that GF last year, Barossa did well to stick with them for a half
