I'm looking at it from a Club perspective mate, its more important to me that the boys are in a higher division. Thats the beauty of footy, different things matter to different people.

To me a flag is a short sighted goal, the quest needs to be division hopping each year in my opinion.

My dad is the same, he doesn't give a rats if they win the flag, make the GF thats all he cares about, coz then they are in Div 4 and moving closer to where they used to be oh so many years ago.

I respect your opinion and your dads mate.... But yes we all have our own

But hey don't think I won't be hoping for a flag IF we make the GF, but i guess i won't be that unhappy IF we were to get there and lose it.

Salisbury West to beat Plympton by 5 goals

West Croydon to beat North haven by 3 goals

Then should see Plympton beat West Croydon the following week, to finally make there first steps out of Div 5 after so long trying

Good Luck to all sides tomorrow

For me its the other way around, most important thing for me is to get out of div 5 and get some respect back, if we win the flag along the way then that's a happy by-product. I know my views aren't shared by all, but i know there are a lot that feel that way.

Ok, I'm not a passionate amateur league fan or anything, I'm really a cricketer at Salisbury West who follows his mates in footy but that's seriously pathetic. If anything, thinking about getting into div 4 ahead of winning a grand final is worthy of losing respect. How insulting to blokes who battle their backsides for their whole sporting lives to represent the club they love by insinuating that div 5 is below the respect your high and mighty club deserves. Westies a few years ago were div 2, but by no means does anyone down there regard div 5 as insulting as you seem to. Get over yourself and realise that no grade is so pathetic as to deserve your pity. The clubs are in the grades they deserve and there is a tough battle coming for premierships, the thing GOOD clubs measure themselves by.

Plympton a club I love to hate. Saying that they have been to hell and back and are in red hot form. This is their year and I wish them the best.

I'll back jabber up on this one. It's often said that when you win a Prelim or a 2nd semi which gains promotion, that one's for the club and when you win a GF, that one's for the players.

Well done to Barta and the B grade on their 11pt win today. Great effort to travel to Salisbury West and come away with the win, especially in a final.

Now into a prelim final next week...

Cheers SD. Pity we didnt kick straight in the first quarter (2-10), a lot of which were very gettable. Credit to our boys who all stood up in the last quarter. Looking forward to next week, gonna be another tough game.

I had people like you at my old club, happy to be promoted by getting to the Grand Final but forgetting what the purpose is when getting there.
Your there to win the FLAG at all costs.
Your attitude Jabber can be contagious & your club won't go far with that.

Look guys, i think i'm getting my message slightly muddled my attitude is this: Plympton (like every other club) is a proud club, all i want for them is to get back where they started when they entered this comp so they can start again. I'm not someone who subscribes to just making a GF all the time in order to do that, but just to get out of div 5 and see some light at the end of the tunnel i'll take a GF loss to do that.

I'm only 29 and the PFC has been my second home right from the get-go, my great grandfather was the founder of the place, i would love a premiership, but at the end of the day i just want the boys to get themselves into div 4.

I wear my heart on my sleeve with this one, and its not a view everyone subscribes to, and i understand that, but gee i just want us out of div 5.

I dont think you are Jabber, you clearly want the promotion more then the flag. I hope your A graders dont feel the same way.

Will Plympton host the Prelim Final, or will it be on a neutral ground?

plympton cant host finals... for some reason we dont sell west end draught on tap!!!! so it will have to be neutral.

I thought that was the case. Maybe Thebbie? Do West croydon get the chance to cough up the cash and host it?
