Plympton have since changed their supplier over, so they may be eligible.

I think Scotch will be playing at St Marys next week.

winning a GF would be more so then promotion.

Promotion is good but nothing beats winning a GF (not that that has ever happened to me as i have played in 2 losing GFs) But GF is better then the promotion.

Totally agree that nothing compares to the feeling of a GF win, i'm one of the unlucky many that haven't played in one.

But i guess i just wanna get out of this division, get ourselves to the next level and start again, then for me as an A Grade supporter yeah most definately my goal will be flags, but I just feel that the Club needs to start a fresh in Div 4 (does that make sense at all?).

Clubs can stay in a rut and go no-where for a long time, seen many clubs in D4 and a few in D5 that have been sort of no-where clubs, they don't go up, they don't go down, and they don't do anything. Plympton has been a sort of short term version of that. I just wanna do whatever it takes to get out of Div 5, scratch tooth and nail to start a fresh, out of the rut of Div 5.

Of course they will be playing to win next week and if they do that then they will be playing to win the flag the week after.

We've never been promoted since joining SAAFL in 95, only demoted.

Jabber, most posters see your prospective, but you are de-valuing a premiership.

Entering any season imo, a clubs goal is the double chance in finals, once you are there, the focus turns to promotion which is what the club wants, and once you secure that, the premiership becomes the focus which is what EVERYONE wants.

I have been at HV where we have been promoted twice and havent been able to snare the ultimate prize, and i cant recall anybody saying to me those nights "oh well, at least we went up a div".....

the first aim of a club is promotion. Once that has been achieved, your next aim is a grand final win.

not that i have been promoted but i would assume you wouldnt get anything for it when you get promotion?? No flags or cups?

With a GF win you do. In 5-6 years time after that GF win you have a few bad years and get relegated you can then look back at the cup or flag and say we won this this year...instead of oh we got promoted in 2011....but theres nothing to show for it due to our recent years of poor form?

Which club? Not ours.

Our first aim is to win a premiership. Promotion just happens along the way

Bluedemon,goals/targets obviously change as the year unfolds but before a preseason has commenced everyone should want and believe you can win a premiership. If they don't you won't simple as that

Exactly. Promotion is second prize if you lose the Grand Final and if you win its a bonus.....

Look, this year, under these certain circumstances all i want is for Plympton to be playing in Div 4, and if we don't win the flag i won't be cut up about it. If you don't like that, call the cops!

The boys will be playing to win the flag, and i hope they do, it will be great if they do.

Perhaps they should change the rules so only the GF winner goes up, so that blokes like me have to be upset if we lose a GF.
