They do have more drawing power than United, Hummocks and Hamley though, nevertheless it's a fair achievement, good pick up.

Yes thats a good effort but you would expect that with the populations and numbers to choose from.

EDIT - Snap!

Hmm too right MC but I think its most important that clubs hang onto the players that can represent the A grade for long period of time. TW, Balak and Mallala have been able to do that. Longies had a good team only 7 years ago but it seems that only Pym and Mcardle have hung around.

It's a bit hard for longies when their population is about 9, petrol was about 80c per litre 7 years ago. Prett hard to attract players or retain them for that matter without costing you a fortune.

Prelim Finals at Long Plains this Saturday

A's : Virginia vs Mallala
B's : Virginia vs Mallala
SC's : Balaklava vs Mallala
JC's : Balaklava vs Two Wells

Tips for this week in bold

Is the lad that didn't play for Balak's Snr Colts back in this week? They looked very lethargic against Two Wells, Mallala 17's challenged Balak's earlier in the season when they had a stack out playing for Trinity. I think Mallala will get up.
Mallala for me in the 1's and 2's aswell, Virginia's injury list may be too big for them to cover.

Two

What ever happened with Burgoyne, Vallejio and Kellett this season MC? Poor form by Burgoyne if the rumours that he pulled the pin just before finals are true.

I was referring to the round 6 clash when they lost by 40 points in the end, they had the following players out:
D.Franks
R.Svetec
D.Winning
J.Dunstan
B.Jenkin
A.Coe
T.Algar
L.Bruggemann

They actually faired better that round than what they did in round 13 at Balaks where they lost by 52 points.

Yeah right, but several of these are junior colts... Anyway I see your point LMc, I'd like to think they'd get closer that 52 points too.

The junior results were somewhat disappointing on the weekend, hopefully this weekends games are a bit closer, seems like 3 of the 4 were over by half time.
Couldn't believe the 17's Virginian result, they either flog or get flogged.

mallala are playing some pretty good football in the juniors and some of them have been around for 5 yrs in juniors starting when the juniors didnt have numbers so should be playing well by now, interesting to see no mallala or two wells juniors invited to medel count which tells me the winner will come from balaklava, humm or united,my money bradon taylor humm with coombes united runner up

Probably a result of having good allround sides and not being dependant on individuals, do you have a list of invites for the grades?

Coombe has been invited, so that would put him in the top 4 or 5. Best thing about Daniel is that he can still play juniors next year! :D
