Dual Mail Medalist, three-time club B&F, 1 x Club Runner up B&F, Premiership Captain, 3 time Premiership player, BOG in a winning GF and an A1 Amatuer flag for ROCS. Fair resume and he's still he's only 27 or 28. Has been a handy aquisition for Mallala..... will be up there again in the clubs B&F one would assume. Would be nice to see Joel Mont win a medal one day, I think he's been runner up twice now, it doesn't seem right that he doesn't have one to his name yet, I'm sure he'll win one or two in the next few years if he can stay fit.

I felt for blokes like Moody and Mills, how they earned just 5 and 4 votes respectively is bewildering.

How Mills only polled this many votes is a farse. Sure he was quiet mid year but had a great season all the same and deserved more votes. I am not questioning Witty's win because he is a great player and so is Joel, in fact Joel is the best player going around. It is clear to me the biggest problem in the APFL at the moment is the umpiring, otherwise the comp is thriving. They clearly have no idea and when a game heats up they just lose control. I just hope Hodgetts doesn't get the A grade gig this week because he has the potential to screw it up completely. (NOT THE SHARPEST TOOL IN THE SHED)! I feel sorry for Tallboy with the rabble he has to deal with week in week out. There needs to be a strong recruiting drive in town to try and draw some fresh faced competent umpiring to the comp .It's about time the APFL president and his side kicks got off there oversized rumps and did something about it.

Who do you think the 2 umpires should be for the GF Gribbles? Personally I would have Tallboy and Much but Tallboy wont do it. I felt BJ was reasonably good all year but our game against Mallala at Two Wells and the A Grade game on Saturday I think he let himself down considerably with inconsistencies. We wont get started on Prowse.

I think Much and Min will end up getting the gig.

I've seen BJ handle himself exceptionally well during the season under extreme pressure from the Virginian verandah. Mutchy played it cool on the weekend and balled it up at every opportunity which meant his decisions didn't get as noticed as BJ's.

Yes I said BJ was good during the year but has been disappointing in finals. Would much rather the ball thrown up than paying a decision that could go either way.

Will be interesting to see if the best Junior umpires get the games in the lower grades or will they use the left over A Grade umpires. I think they should use the better Junior umpires for sure.

Yes, my mate standing with me was having a running joke with the ball-ups, I thought it was a good ploy. The trend has been the A Grade umpires filter down through the grades.

Hmm thats very un BJ like MC. Ive never had any problem with BJs umpiring have always said I reckon he's the best one we have in the APFL. Who I think deserves a shot for the A grade but wont coz of his age is young Clarkey. Presents him self well, is approcable and always explains his decision if you ask. Had him 4 or 5 times and never done a bad game. At a guess I'll go with BJ and Min.

Umpires should be from BJ, Mutchy and Joshy Min. These guys have been the pick of them all year.

I'll be there for the junior colts, but won't be hanging around for the main event. It'll be the Caleb Howell - Glen Dawson show, which ever club can shut either of these blokes down will win.

Cant beleive whats been on here lately. Players sacking coaches now they can go out and get their own coach. What happens if these gun local players who threatened to leave dont play anyway? Im gonna keep in mind that the gun local players holding the board to randsom have taken the club to 5 wooden spoons in a row??? Would of been a good chance to get rid of the dead wood!

Led to believe of the 7 players that crashed the meeting only 2 would be borderline A-Grade footballers in a side that challenges for the top 4. Also dont believe every player was asked about the coach. It was more of a case of ask the players who you know you will get the answer you want to hear.
I would imagine any prospective coaches would steer well away from HBFC after hearing of this shambles and treatment of Nelson.
By the way Catterall and Lockwood asked for more money and were denied by the club this is why they have left and good on the club for doing that.
Are they going to pay Nelson out? Might be a good idea since he knocked back 2 other coaching jobs to keep this one, wouldnt want him seeking compensation for loss of income etc etc
