If someone said to me at the start of the season "i'm going to offer you the chance to play in a GF right now, for your club, but the only catch is you have to play it at Port Augusta at 3am on a wednesday" who wouldn't take that??? So why all this carry on (pork chop like) about where the games are and what time they are?? Big deal! Some people just need something to whinge about or they aren't happy.

I tell you what, there are a lotta lotta people that walk through the doors at footy clubs that never ever ever get a chance to play in a GF, and some of them would be the most deserving on earth to win a flag, but they don't get the opportunity. They would play the game on the moon if they had to.

Put it all back into perspective, grow up, and stop whinging about shit that means **** all.

I know something is wrong when I am agreeing with you Jabber but you're right I would take a GF anywhere anytime and the game that's played before hand would matter even less. That being said, playing a GF at Hope Valley wouldn't be my dream choice as im sure North Haven wouldn't be many people's choice either.
I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

It will be cheaper to go watch Norwood vs South at Coopers Stadium.

And so it damn well should be! ;)

It'd have to be free for me to watch south...

And the bloods haven't been too far away from that category in the second half of the year as well!

South are going okay. Can still make the finals and I don't think it will be a walkover for the Legs. But we digress...

Believe it or not since all junior grades finished playing games at HV, and now the ground only cops the occasional training session and maybe a senior home final, its actually in pretty good condition.

The atmosphere at HV is bloody good imo when its packed (similar to salisbury in setup with the cars all around).

People just expect SANFL quality surfaces for GF's (can't blame them) but like jabber said....just play where your allocated, 8 other sides would kill to be in your position.

Correct- and the players get re-imbursed by the club.

From what i have heard its $10 entry into every ground for the day.

If you wish to visit multiple grounds eg. HV v NH c5 and then go to campbelltown for D4- the amateur league supply you with a passout so you dont get charged again.

Would rather play at Hope Valley, instead of playing at your ground mate. Next time we play there might take my golf clubs, plenty of bunkers on the oval to practice with.

Although I'm a fan of it because I can watch our C grade play and then watch Salisbury West v Plympton in the A grade, I'm with QR on this one. I am confused as to why the D5R GF is being played before the D5 GF.

On a side note, where was the C5 GF last season and was it played after the C6 GF at the same ground?

I believe its to align some C grade sides with their A grade teams or give the lower grade sides a chance to watch their A grade after their game. ie: Flinders park in c6 are aligned with the d6 teams @10:15 to give them a chance to watch the C, B and A grade triple header at kilburn. C4 Aligns salisbury to its A and B grade sides also in gf's, same with flinders park in C 3 to its A and B grade sides. C2 aligns rostrevor to its A grade, thus leaving C1 and C5. Goodwood have been given an early game for them to head to Goodwood to watch the A grade prelim, so they have aligned 2 sides based in that vicinity (adel lutheran and woody south) for locality, leaving HV and north haven to treck out to salisbury.

First time i have seen it too but in a way to ensure that sides with all grades in grand finals are aligned as well as possible i agree with it.
