How can you add the McClean boys as recriuts mate, they are local lads that have family history in the club like any other in the club. That is absolute rubbish adding them in as recruits, get your head out of the sandglass mate
Quite easily, they've both been elsewhere for 3 years and have been recruited back. May well be locals but went seeking something at other clubs so are recruits in 2011, simple really!

Wikipedia says - "Recruit (from the French recrue, from the verb recroître 'to grow again', i.e. replenish the ranks")
Returning players is better suited mate, you can call them recruits, but thats just like being a jorno, making the story more appealing to the reader.
Ah well, had a good run this year, if players do go then really you only want committed players. Dont think any a grade coach would want players that dont play for the club, but for the wallet

Moving on from a non issue,

BL&GFA Season 2012 News

- Scott Lee to Coach South Gawler's A Grade side...South appear to have made a good move here, and with the imminent return of few local players, could be up for a few more wins next year
- Jason 'Buckets' Mackenzie to return to Kapunda for 2012...really could strengthen Kapunda into a premiership challenger in 2012
- Mal Greenwood is staying at Freeling, would suggest Shane Schubert would stay as well, depending on the coach they bring in, and with a few more points under the club's belt definitely heading in the right direction!!!

Bucket MacKenzie is oficially back to Kapunda as a player. Maybe half a chance Browny could stand down for Buckets to coach?

Anyone see The Porpoise ride through town this morning?
Imagine him falling off his bike and popping his shoulder again!
Stopped off at the Gawler South Bakery. Best stop in town I'd say!

By the way, anyone know who Mal from Williamstown is? He's certainly got a few Willaston supporters annoyed in the Bunyips texty column.
The one today from a Donny saying he'd lost count of how many times Mal had complained was a crack up. He reckoned it was *19* times at last count. Comedy gold!

Good rumour Duke, Britton has signed on for another year at Tanunda, maybe Lubs, have heard there are some clubs chasing him, mainly on the APFL and in the riverland (eg. Mannum).

If it was Lubs what could this mean for the current Blocky list, Lubs would obviously want some to come with him but lets face it probably all rumour. It would leave the Blockies very exposed though, with no points, top to bottom.

Good call Dukey. Confirmed that the strong rumour has travelled all the way from the Mannum punt to the Gungellan tonight. Time will tell if he can coach???? Was the AK47 the link.

Why did he leave Tanunda in the first place?? Seems bizarre given he was coming off, what 2 or 3 flags there? Surely the magpies would be keen to hang onto him in one form or another, or has he been coaching elsewhere in the last few seasons?

I think it was for health reason but don't quote me on that. My informant tells me that he definitely will not be coaching at Mannum but believes he will be coaching somewhere....

Well I think the question needs to be asked. Did Lubke and Greenwood get along at their time at the pies together. Maybe Lubke is heading to Freeling to coach and that is the reason Greenwood re-signed for another year after stong rumours he was departing

Huge effort to win 2 flags and walk. From all reports, I believe Lobke engineered that squad into what they are today.

I may be wrong but i think Lubs is waiting for Hip surgery.

I was also told that Greeny still has another year to go on his contract and would have had to pay back some $$$s to the club if he walked out. That was from someone that is close to the club. Again not sure if 100% correct.

Has any team ever won 5 straight premierships in the BLG in A Grade or will Tanunda be looking to create history.

The mighty Angaston Panthers won in 1911, 1912, 1913, 1914, 1915.
War years may have cost some other winning streaks.

Lubs stopped coaching as he was going to undergo a hip replacement but he has since had some troubles with his health insurance and now has to wait for another year, hence the speculation on coaching. From what I'm hearing he has had plenty of offers and is weighing it all up, don't be surprised if he does not coach at all. He has continued on at Tanunda at a committee level, so he has not left the club and just gets around in the background.

Not sure, mate.
Always had a soft spot for Centrals growing up, as a mate of mine played juniors there.
Then there's Gawler South - I'm great mates with Ben Halliday.
Probably one of those two.

Will try and get out to a few games but will be playing some for Elizabeth.
